12:00 AM
It's 5 a.m. and I haven't been able to sleep normally due to low back pain. Nimesulide lotion does not seem to help a lot. It started 3 days ago after a jog as a little area of pain along the top of the left gluteus, but wow did it spread. Muscle movement causes pain.

Then take a teaspoon of "baking soda" (meaning pure sodium bicarbonate, not "baking powder" which contains various agents unless that's all you have) dissolved in eight ounces of water.

I visited a pharmacist in March and several times afterwards, and she first gave me some medicines which I have finished and during afterwards visits, she only gave me probiotic powders and fiber tablets.

Acid reflux can masquerade as back pain.
Baking soda has about 1200 mg of sodium per teaspoon though. Maybe try half that at first.
Left gluteus won't be acid reflux. That's butt pain. :)

she first said my stomachache is caused by inflammation of stomach because I didn't eat whole day long until dinner time, but afterwards my symptom ameliorates, and she said stomachache is caused by stress.

Acid reflux hiding as back pain will seem to emanate from the thoracic vertebrae not from the lumbar vertebrae or facet joints.
@CaptainBohemian I used to have that as a child. They prescribed me a half-sandwich between meals.
But the stress part can happen at any age.

12:06 AM
@tchrist I don't know what is backing soda. The pharmacist never suggested to eat that.

Sodium bicarbonate (IUPAC name: sodium hydrogen carbonate), commonly known as baking soda (especially in North America and New Zealand) or bicarbonate of soda, is a chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3. It is a salt composed of a sodium cation (Na+) and a bicarbonate anion (HCO3−). Sodium bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline, but often appears as a fine powder. It has a slightly salty, alkaline taste resembling that of washing soda (sodium carbonate). The natural mineral form is nahcolite. It is a component of the mineral natron and is found dissolved in many mineral springs....
It's a chemical normally used in various sorts of baking and sterilizing actions, amongst many others.
You can put an open box of it in your fridge to keep odors away.
Most households keep some on hand because it has so many uses.

I told the pharmacist that the stomachache may go away when I am distracted or put aside my brain work, then she said my stomachache looks like caused by stress.

I'm afraid I don't know what it is normally called by English speakers from your part of the world. Apparently "baking soda" is used only in North America and in New Zealand.
It sounds like you have a more complex situation than mere momentary indigestion.

I am in a country whose language I just started to learn.

That is always very difficult.
Has your pharmacist suggested you try any customary indigestion remedies such as Famotidine or Calcium carbonate?
Those are for acid stomach, which is a frequent cause of stomachache. But there are many causes.

12:12 AM
@tchrist I don't have back pain nor butt pain at all.

You can have a stomach ache from gas pain, or from cramps due to constipated bowels. You could have a gluten allergy or any other kind. Have you been tested from Crohn's disease? I've known young, college-age people to have this, and they've gone for a long time before receiving an accurate diagnosis.
But really bad nerves will do it to anybody.

@tchrist no, she gave me probiotic powders and said I need to build probiotic in my gut.

The science isn't very good there.
I mean, I'm sure she's right and all.
But it is much harder to develop a healthy set of intestinal flora than virtually any non-- or sub-clinical probiotic treatment can ever hope to provide.
So the science suggests that casual products seldom do much good at all, even though much higher doses in a hospital setting can.

@tchrist indeed I have stomach ache from gas pain, or from cramps due to constipated bowels, and that's why she suggested me to eat probiotic.

@CaptainBohemian Oh I see. That definitely helps, knowing that.
I wonder whether you get enough dietary fiber.

12:20 AM
@tchrist By the way, there is now talk about how perhaps the autumnal vacation (1 week) was a major factor in temporarily reducing our R.

@tchrist she also gave me a bottle of dietary fiber tablets.

@CaptainBohemian This all begins to make more sense.
@Cerberus I believe your sentence is missing a formal subject.
"now news"?

@tchrist The stuff they sell in bottles just dies in your stomach, I believe. But faecal transplants are seen as affective in certain cases.
@tchrist Oops!
I meant "talk".

I wanted to keep it informal.

12:22 AM
@Cerberus Yeah, I don't do the bottled pills. I do take psyllium fiber though.

Fibre is something else; that may have various beneficial effects, I believe.

Yes, psyllium has soluble fiber; bran has insoluble.

Hmm I believe insoluble is what they recommend, then, isn't it?

A cereal bowl of bran flakes with a half-cup of raspberries is a superlative fiber source.
Most fruit has a fair bit of fiber; just not strained fruit juice.
Psyllium is more of a bulking agent.
If you eat nothing but chips and cheese and burgers and such, you may find you need more fiber.
Fiber is something you can and should consume daily. It will not have long-term side-effects. Nearly anything else you can do for constipation would, if done regularly.
> Dietary fiber, also known as roughage or bulk, includes the parts of plant foods your body can't digest or absorb. Unlike other food components, such as fats, proteins or carbohydrates — which your body breaks down and absorbs — fiber isn't digested by your body. Instead, it passes relatively intact through your stomach, small intestine and colon and out of your body.

Then why do you take soluble fibre?

12:33 AM
> Soluble fiber: This type of fiber dissolves in water to form a gel-like material. It can help lower blood cholesterol and glucose levels. Soluble fiber is found in oats, peas, beans, apples, citrus fruits, carrots, barley and psyllium.

Insoluble fiber: This type of fiber promotes the movement of material through your digestive system and increases stool bulk, so it can be of benefit to those who struggle with constipation or irregular stools. Whole-wheat flour, wheat bran, nuts, beans and vegetables, such as cauliflower, green beans and potatoes, are good sources of insoluble fiber.
Glucose control for me.
A couple of spicy bean burritos will also help move things through you. :)

I have the problem of stomachache if I don't eat for too long when I am hungry since undergraduate time (I sometimes just had difficulty to access food, e.g. I was catching up my experimental report for the upcoming class and got no time to go buy food or I cannot go out the school dorm after midnight), but I heard some people can keep hunger for long without eating and still without stomachache and some cannot feel hunger even without eating for days. I admire those people who can be this way.
when I was in my MSc school, I have felt the trouble of the need of going buying food so often and told other that humans need to eat so often is such a trouble.
then I often didn't eat whole day long until dinner time, and for a period. That then led to stomachache which occurs almost every day. Then I visited that pharmacist, whose medicine ameliorates my symptom.

12:53 AM
@tchrist I'm well aware.
@CowperKettle Could be the sacroiliac. There is a nerve there that can get pinched. It will give you pain all down the posterior of the thigh and into the back of the knee. Sometimes down to the ankle.
> The pain associated with sacroiliitis most commonly occurs in the buttocks and lower back. It can also affect the legs, groin and even the feet. Sacroiliitis pain can be aggravated by:

Prolonged standing
Bearing more weight on one leg than the other
Stair climbing
Running
Taking large strides
As much as you may hate to do so, if the pain persists you may try resting (no running) for a few days, see if that helps.

now I understand that having no restaurant making hot well-cooked food is a trouble
that kind of food is not everyone can make
without that kind of restaurant, we nonprofessional cooks may just eat raw food.
corns have no flavor - not like the corns in restaurants
pierogis don't taste good
it's very boring to eat these insipid food.

> Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for casirivimab and imdevimab to be administered together for the treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 in adults and pediatric patients
Casirivimab/imdevimab is an experimental drug developed by the American biotechnology company Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. It is an artificial "antibody cocktail" designed to produce resistance to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic. It consists of a mixture of two monoclonal antibodies, casirivimab (REGN10933) and imdevimab (REGN10987). The combination of two antibodies is intended to prevent mutational escape. == Medical uses == In November 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for casirivimab and imdevimab to...

A drop in the ocean. 100 000 patients per month.

Word of the day: antipassback
Noun: antipassback (uncountable)
  1. A security mechanism preventing an access card or similar device from being used to enter an area a second time without first leaving it (so that the card cannot be passed back to a second person who wants to enter)....

11:31 AM
> These areas shall be enclosed totally and secured at all times, except to allow entryand exit by authorized personnel.
I understand that here secured means locked. But the word is so ambiguous. It may mean "under security monitoring" too.
It's hard to understand. Now I'll have to go over the whole document and check.. I thought it meant only "under security monitoring".

@CowperKettle Secured is a squishy word. It can mean anything from locked down to merely closed to (of an item) stowed in its proper place.

> Deliveries shall be advised in advance. This means that the organization shall keep a register in which date, arrival time, identification of the vehicle are registered as well as the name and identification of the driver.
I wonder what exactly this means. Idenfication details, probably. Big red truck.
Blonde fat driver.
The organization is sending printed banknotes to a customer, and "advises" in advance. Probably just tells in advance at what time and date the truck will arrive.

it's great if there is an expert in serving your body.
she knows how to counter stomachache.
she can make food for you which can keep you away from stomachache.
she knows how you can get the best sleep and get up feeling refreshed.
she has a way to make you sleep in the most efficient way.

@CowperKettle Synonym of informs.

They shoulda called it a Royale w/ Cheese.

Everybody knows four is bigger than three
Of course that^ kind of "knowledge" breaks down for two and one
Now if A&W tried to sell a 0.33 lb burger...
... but they would have to say McDonald's was selling 0.25 lb burgers

Fitting.

@Robusto wait, first I thought it's got something to do with how the burgers are made and stuff, is it really because people thought four is bigger than three?
@Cerberus as long as it's more complex carbohydrates, it's better for the body to handle
