12:26 AM
@RegDwigнt Because YouTube keeps taking them down.

12:48 AM
@Færd whose the fuck picture did they use for Schröder. That is so clearly not him I don't know what to say.
@Robusto well they kinda don't, that's the point. They stopped caring a long time ago, unless you're Metallica or Madonna. Nowadays it's just yeah whatever, it's clearly not yours but we'll let it slide as long as someone else gets the moneys and not you.
That someone else rarely being the actual copyright holder, mind.
Now, people say Article 13 will take it all down all over again, but then again people say Article 13 will just take down all of YouTube altogether, and I'm pretty sure Google will find plenty of ways around that, or indeed long has.
So I'm not holding my breath.
That video above has been up since 2015 alright. Of course the CD came out in like 1997, at least that's when I got it, so I still got some bang for my buck. But it kinda makes you understand why all of the world's music is only $10/month now, with only 0.03 cent actually going in the most general direction of the person whose music it is.
It's a commodity. Nobody will give you 30 Euro just because you're Gardiner playing Bach. Either take your 0.03 cent, or GTFO, there's no shortage of other people we can listen to instead.
And nobody at Google will care for your right to your measly couple cent. YouTube loses them ten million times that amount every minute, like. They don't care.
So suck it, Paco. I paid for your bills when I was young, but now if you want food on your table, go play some shabby bodegas.

1:49 AM
@RegDwigнt Paco's dead. So thanks a lot.

6 hours later…
7:20 AM
@Mitch Yeah I didn't laugh in denial. Just at how sweeping the scale can be.
Oh and Chávez's sneer of course haha
@RegDwigнt I think they did that on purpose: they wanted to go for a flat face on the cold end of the spectrum. Not a flattering pic, I admit.

7:49 AM
Incidentally, you left me wondering whether it should be Whose the fuck picture did they use? or Who the fuck's picture did they use?.

3 hours later…
10:26 AM
@Færd or perhaps who-the fuck-se

11:26 AM
@MattE.Эллен I watched last night's vote live again, LOL.

@Jasper yet another predictable outcome. but what is the extension for?

@MattE.Эллен I suspect May will get her third deal passed next week.

it's the same deal, though, so I don't see why

Yeah. If it still fails, then maybe we might get a second referendum, or article 50 might be revoked, but hard for these to happen also.

more likely that there will be a no-deal brexit

11:30 AM
Haha, but people clearly don't want no deal, LOL.

yup
but there's no reason I can see for an extension, unless there's a general election or 2nd referendum

So I think nobody knows what is going to happen, LOL.

the EU won't grant an extension for more faffing about
@Jasper that much is sure

Last night's votes were complicated.
I think I understand now how amendments work, and how amendments to amendments work, LOL.

I didn't see them. what happened?
oh, the amendments. yeah, that's complicated

11:34 AM
Well, they vote to make the amendments first or not, then if the amendment passes, they vote for the motion with the amendment.

yes, they did that with the "meaningful vote"

It's interesting to hear Scottish English in the parliament!
I must now learn how to speak like a Scottish!

Are you still freelancing?

no. I'm an office worker again

11:41 AM
An office worker is an officer, LOL.

not this one
I have little to no authority

12:00 PM
@MattE.Эллен that is Jar-Jar-Binks speak. I'd rather move to Surrey.
@Færd it's flattering alright, to whosever the picture is.
It's just that it's not Schröder's.

@RegDwigнt whomst'd'ven't'll

> - "I promise to improve snow cleaning services!"
- "I have the following question: electricity hasn't even been invented, yet we are forced to pay 3 copecks per month for it"

12:35 PM
@CowperKettle um, that's not 3 copecks, that's 9.
And at the time depicted in this particular painting, actually 18.

1:24 PM
Why the eff are the birds singing like like a bunch of 13 year old girls at a debutante's ball? Winter has not left yet. You have two more months of "hey, do I still need a my winter coat? steps outside yes, yes I do." For a month after the 21st it is still winter.
Eff that goddam groundhog
Oh hey everyone. Are we still discussing inflation rates in pre-revolution Russia?

2:25 PM
@Mitch it's not about inflation. It's that she specifically says three altyns, not three copecks. Altyn is the word for "three copecks". So three altyn is nine copecks, then.
And back in Ms Morozova's day, there was some confusion about whether one altyn should be three copecks to begin with, or six, since that's what the word "altyn" actually means, six.

And 18?

So in Moscow it was six copecks, but elsewhere it was three.
@Mitch 3 altyn equals 18 copecks if 1 altyn equals 6 copecks.
I have studied maths at university level, you must believe me.

So, not inflation exactly, but differential local costs.

Altyn (Russian алты́н, also алты́нник altýnnik) is a historical Russian currency (symbol: ). The name in Tatar is altı (алты) meaning "six", since it was worth 6 half-dengas (six halves, Russ. шесть полушек), equivalent to three kopek silver, then copper, a small value coin, or 180–206 copper puls.From the 15th century, altyn had been in use in several Russian principalities as a Eurasian currency between Russian and Asian traders. They were minted from 1654 under Alexis I, under Peter I as silver coins from 1704 to 1718. Later they were revived under Nicholas I as copper coins with a value of...

Or, in microeconimc theories of class, inflation from the point of view of the rural/agricultural proletariat.
@RegDwigнt 1) I don't believe any ink from wikipedia that you give because I can only assume that you wrote it out of full cloth just to win an argument, and 2) I also believe that you made up your university
But kudos to your made-up university for teaching you well how to make up stuff

2:28 PM
I made my university out of LEGO.
I taught it how to make stuff.

With Lego bots.

I don't need to win any arguments because I never participate in arguments.
I just speak truth, and then I vanish.
Let everyone else bludgeon themselves to death.

That's a vacuous argument because we can't see you anyway

Then I shall conclude the vanishing works.

You should start your vanishing then

2:31 PM
Vanish is a brand of stain removing products owned by Reckitt Benckiser, sold in Australia, India, Indonesia, South Africa, Latin America, the United Kingdom and much of Europe. In North America, these products are sold under the Resolve brand name. The product line is not related to the North American Vanish toilet cleaner brand owned by S. C. Johnson. Most Vanish products are designed for removing stains from clothing, with some for removing stains from carpets and upholstery. In Australia, Vanish has replaced 'Preen' in media advertising voiceovers as the name for the pre-treat clothing stain...
There, just made that one out of LEGO.

There's a lesson in ethnobullshitology. Resolve for the US, Vanish for the rest of the known world

I also invented a country for it to come from. I named it the "Netherlands". Isn't that a hilarious word?

Fiction is more boring than the truth because it has to be believable..

It's like the Netherregions, but less in-your-face. Unless you work in a few select professions.

"Pikachu, I choose you"

2:33 PM
@Mitch if it were believable it wouldn't be fiction. WTF are you on about.

QED

> In Australia, Vanish has replaced 'Preen'
Bei mir bist du preen, please let me explain.

In France, Pflbrt has replaced common sense

In America, there is no common sense to be replaced. They only have covfefe.

@RegDwigнt Die Antwoord

2:36 PM
No, that's South Africa.

You're good at geography. You should be on Jeopardy!
Hold on...

It's been a while since Africa was considered to be part of America.

There we go

Where?

You blinked

2:37 PM
No, you said a statement, and I provided the fitting question.
There - Where?
That's how Jeopardy works mate.

So this exchange is complete

I've not received my altyns.

Here you go...
flings coins into the air
catch all you can
start with Pikachu
then move on to...
super pikachu?

Coins is in the air, everywhere I look around. Coins is in the air, every sight and every sound.

I forgot all my evolution

2:39 PM
You never evolved to begin with.

I also forgot all my musical lyrics

You could've been a simian, instead you always stayed a bison.

@RegDwigнt I'm not insulted by that. At least I'm consistent

Just saying. Some people are consistently millionaires. You're only consistently a bison.

@Gigili pop in any time
@RegDwigнt You're just sayin, and I'm just playin

2:42 PM
No, I'm singing along with Jean-Paul Gaultier.
Or whoever sang that song.
But actually you were correct. This exchange is over, for I have two hours of all-new orchestration videos to attend to.

Why don't you 'Sing along with Mitch'?

2 of them?

Well technically three, but I watched the last one at 3 o'clock this morning.

"Our first lecture is going to be a little shorter"
At 45 minutes? That's an eternity already.
A short eternity is like a ...
it's not like anything
@RegDwigнt Why aren't you making videos instead of watching?
@RegDwigнt "Pretty Basic"
Transcribe that for the flute
"It's not a 6/8 more of a really fast 3/4" - uh... that is what it is.

1 hour later…
4:10 PM
@Mitch I am awesome like that.
@Mitch It's a short with eternity printed on it
Hahahah, very funny

3 hours later…
7:39 PM
Nester said English has no logic, so you can't explain why English is written in this way.
so being finicky about others' English errors is very ludicrous.
