@Mitch I couldn't find anything on the internet. The responder found the earliest attested use in the Oxford English Dictionary (which was about India). He also highlighted a few examples which seemed to show a change of use. I'm still not sure when the term arose or when two words, white and supremacy, were used together. The only other thing is the google books frequency chart. I don't think there's a publication about it, yet.

Judging the exact origins of a piece of news is not easy, especially if the circumstances don't strongly suggest that one of the possibilities is true. In fact, I think with all the madness and instabilities in SA and especially after Iran's presidential election some members of the Gulf Cooperation Council are starting to consider leaning toward Iran and escaping from under SA's hegemony.

But fake or genuine, I fear this incident will be used as just an excuse to take savage, disastrous measures against another of our neighbors and we'll end up with the ruins of a nation on our hands, having forgotten what all the fight was about.

@Cerberus how is anybody a threat to anybody? Mostly psychological (but yes competition over resources, which I don't think there is between the two). They are the two large stable military powers with visions of leadership in the area but on opposite sides of a few things: sunni vs shiite, Arab vs non-Arab, US-backed vs alone, monarchy vs republic, mono-cultural vs multicultural (lots of non-Persian subcultures)

(all those labels are qualifiable by themselves but are incontrovertible distinctions)

Now that I think about it, it's probably that they are the two big guys now and one is back by US and one has US sanctions.

I don't know much about the internet, I was just curious but the most dangerous situation I have been in real life was when the husband of the woman I was friends with became angry with me in the past and went postal on me (kind of). But I handled it very well. Pretty decently too.
