Q: How do I ask a waitress to "wrap the rest of the food up" to bring home?

studyhardI went to a restaurant for a meal and didn't manage to finish it, so there was some food leftover. How do you politely ask a server/waiter/waitress to wrap the food up? And is the expression "wrap up" correct?

Really?
How about, "Will you wrap this up for us?"

And a Stradivarius violin will make an adequate paperweight, won't it?

@Mitch It's my hubby's USACE laptop...I misappropriated it a little. This piss color is probably a federal crime. Pretend I was never here.
@Robusto Yes...I said old piss, but that's probably not relatable. Maybe Glidden's Water Chestnut...in a sunny room...or old, canned mushrooms. This would go great with my friend's hunter green carpet from the 80s. She vacuums too much.

@Mitch My little cuz just misspelled "plaiting" at a spelling bee. She's still like 20 years ahead of the rest of us. I think she'll misspell "peed" next; it just doesn't look right.

Q: Bored with the dowdy colors, I seek solace in drink

Robusto Blessings on thee, little man, Barefoot boy, with cheek of tan! Yeah, that's how it starts. The John Greenleaf Whittier poem, that is. From 1855. Last time I looked, it was 158 years later. We don't write poetry like that anymore, and we sure don't talk the way they did back then. Hell, th...

That was my comment on this site's colors. Not exactly old piss, but musty and boring.

@Robusto LOL! "I have done an" AAS in computer science in order to not deal with this color ever again. Is it just me, or do we not do degrees here? Anyway, thanks for the link to the comment. I have no idea why my old laptop wasn't processing these awful colors. As I said, I had only done an AAS. Somebody correct those people...or me, whatevs.

Q: Some improvements to blockquotes

Aaron ShekeyWe’re making a few changes to blockquotes soon. Historically, we had a bit of feedback that the yellow backgrounds were overpowering, reducing the contrast of the quote itself. The yellow border also lacks contrast with the background. Others have indicated that there should be more visible diffe...
