4:00 PM
@JasperLoy IDK, he seems a little off. I wouldn't want to be a user being moderated by him, that is all. He appears to be about 3 years old, maybe it is just how he acts in chat, I'm kinda new here, so i might not know you all very well :P

Children.

@NoviceInDisguise Well, this chat is full of very liberal talk. Maybe he should not have said that, but I think he means no harm, so don't get upset.

@Robusto I have listened to your podcast, it was pretty good. HOWEVER! TTIP is now officially extremely unlikely to happen, because the Dutch Socialists have come out against it, oddly. That means the Dutch parliament will not ratify it (which will probably be necessary), and their people in the Europarliament will also vote against it (a majority against the treaty is now finally taking shape among the European socialists, the second-largest fraction).

I am not 3. I am legally required to tell you I am 13 already.

4:01 PM
So I hereby declare TTIP dead! All rejoice!

But thank you for the compliment again.

@NoviceInDisguise By the way, I am one of the nicest people on earth you know.

If you think a 3 year-old can put off such command of the language, thank you.

Sing and rejoice.

@Cerberus That's good.

4:01 PM
@RegDwigнt You have to say that @NoviceInDisguise because you couldn't join here unless you typed a birthdate saying you're 13 or older.

@JasperLoy do not apologize on my behalf. What is wrong with you.

@RegDwigнt They could a while back . . . the farmers of the 1770s stump english scholar wannabes :P

@Robusto Of course there are still CETA and TISA, which are just as bad (but just as unlikely to happen now). And also the TPP, which is even worse, and also more likely to happen, because Europe is not involved in it.

@RegDwigнt I do think your sentence was a little off. So I would like to calm him down.

@NoviceInDisguise okay, so I'm a 3-year old farmer from the 1770s. I think you need to go visit Math.SE more often.

4:02 PM
No man XD
Maybe you are 3 :P
I was just saying, there is no reason why not

@JasperLoy you get to apologize on my behalf about as much as I get to shit on yours.

I don't have a behalf to shit on. sad panda

Anyway, as I was saying for like five times, I must be off.

@RegDwigнt Shit all you want on me, I love shit.

See, I find that sentence a little off.

4:03 PM
Am I the only person who thinks this a somewhat (slightly) hostile chatroom?

It is my hope that the American far right can be mobilised against the TPP, for reasons of sovereignty and constitutionality and freedom and such.

@RegDwigнt that's a silly excuse

What do you think?

@NoviceInDisguise yes. All normal people leave as soon as they think that.

@NoviceInDisguise Sometimes it is. You see, they are a little tipsy. I am usually sober.

4:04 PM
Ok
That explains it

@NoviceInDisguise Hi! What happened?

@Cerberus I think I don't recognize a lot of those acronyms. But then I don't read.

@Cerberus The transcript happened :P

All unnormal people stay here, however. Which is why it's one of the most active rooms on the entire network.

4:05 PM
helo, i have simple question,

"this is my whole live" or
"this is my whole life"

@NoviceInDisguise Feel free to ask me questions about this room, I will help you adjust.

@Cerberus he's trolling hard. Beware.

@Mitch They are all international treaties limiting your democratic power, your freedom, your constitution.

@user965347 Life.

4:05 PM
@NoviceInDisguise How unfortunate. Then it must be erased.

so correct sentence is "this is my whole life"

@user965347 life is a noun. Live is a verb. You can use a dictionary of your choice to check for such things.

Or "This is my whole live-long day"

@RegDwigнt I wouldn't call that hostile. More confrontational. maybe ... competitive?

Maybe...incomprehensible?

4:06 PM
@user965347 yes

To be honest, I dislike many things said in this chat as well @NoviceInDisguise.

@Cerberus Yes that :P

Lack of command of orthographically correct English and clear dominance of childish interkiddy emotica betrays one’s tender age and lack of educumaculation.

ok
thanks

@RegDwigнt Don't speak for me! wait...are you (I mean me) taking over my account?

4:06 PM
@JasperLoy To be honest, you keep re-creating your account just to come back in here.
Like literally, you've done it five times by now.

@NoviceInDisguise Okay, well, I'm afraid incomprehensibility is a badge of honour here...

@Cerberus hegemony through obscurity! I'll TTIF them!

Muting commies.

@tchrist :) !

4:07 PM
@NoviceInDisguise Are you still feeling upset?

@tchrist I'm afraid icon is feminine, because it is of the 3rd declension.

@Cerberus What?

It is eikôn, with an omega. Gen. eikonos.

@JasperLoy Not as much, starting to see what people are like

@RegDwigнt COme on! You're letting us down.

4:08 PM
@NoviceInDisguise What do you think of me?

@Mitch This is what a TIF is as far as I know en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tagged_Image_File_Format
@JasperLoy One of the few sane people :P

@NoviceInDisguise If you know me, you would know that I am actually the most insane person in this room.

IDK, I might be

@NoviceInDisguise On the surface he's sane, but lying way way deep underneath, he's totally sane. Watch out!

4:09 PM
@Mitch Haha, that is indeed part of what they tried, see Rob's podcast. By having all negotiations done in extreme secrecy, and using obscure acronyms and misleading names ("trade agreement", my derrière), they tried to stave off public interest, and thereby public understanding and outcries, for as long as possible.

room topic changed to English Language & Usage: The Room Incomprehensible [status-by-design]

Anyway, I just dropped by for today. Maybe I won't come anymore.

@Cerberus I don't think any of that is intentional. It just ends up that way. Still bad.

@JasperLoy Seeya Eurologist.

INPUT: "what does this thing do? this is a wretched thing! ouch! my ocd is going crazy!"

OUTPUT: "wat doz diz thng du? diz iz a wertcehd thng! ocuh! mi ocd iz ging crzi!"

4:11 PM
@Mitch There are serious hypotheses that the secrecy and the names are really partly for that reason.

What is it for?

@JasperLoy To be frank, it's been kinda slow lately without you.
@tchrist snerckle!

Tsk.

@Mitch To be Fred, I think it is time to eat

@NoviceInDisguise novice's first name is fred. pass it on Dammit, I mean Reg's

4:14 PM
i think the colorscheme is what drives people so crazy . . . all the beta sites I have been in have had much more polite/formal chatrooms . . .

wht dz þs þng do? þs z a ᴚchd þng! ȣch! my ocd z gng kr8zy!
@NoviceInDisguise Your ellipses are danglingly dumb.

More proof that junior high school kidz should not have phones.

@NoviceInDisguise That can't be right. I type and read with my eyes closed

I don't have a phone

4:16 PM
Case proven.

What is the premodern g called again?
Yogh or something?

insular

Yes, insular.

@Mitch The reading of a display might be an issue . . .

provincial g?

4:17 PM
Ok
Going . . .

ᵹ ≠ ȝ

I always confuse those.

Going . . .

I've never confused them

Z and Xi?

4:18 PM
@Mitch Then your gaze is not fearsome enough.

oh, insular letters

ȝ ≠ ʒ

My gaze is irrelevant except in the sense that I was not looking
@tchrist that looks the same to me.

Then how could you hope to confuse them, if you weren't even trying to gaze at them weirdly?

4:20 PM
That's exactly how I keep from confusing them, I don't see them at all.
Wait, are we trying to make sense here?

I was not.

Nice. OK continue...

And now I must go.

that's one way to do it

Adeus!
Thank you.

4:21 PM
Am adeus!

These are not the druids you're looking for.
