Wow, it looks like you pieced together my thoughts together coherently @vzn, and yes I did look at solitons and they are really interesting, kind of like rock skipping on a river the first time I read it.

@Nick hi thx for stopping by. have been interested in physics simulation using game/ physics engines for awhile. have you worked on some prjs along those lines? interested to hear of your experiences in the area. think you have some great ideas along the lines as you mentioned in Physics, maybe some extended discussion on it could be possible... was recently looking at blender fluid dynamics and am impressed... think it could be sufficient to do some very substantial experiments...
