Can anyone provide me with a group of scientists/scientist researching the impact of geology on LiDAR based stream mapping techniques. For example, half of our local county is underlain by karst geology. By the naked eye, it appears that lack of consideration of karst geology results in overestimation of streams based on LiDAR/Topological analysis.
See this picture for an example:
Yellow Line- Photogrammetric Based Streams (using 1 cm imagery) Blue Lines- Lidar Derived Streams (using 1 m2 DEM based on 60 acre contributing area threshold) Blue Polygons- Karst Geology
