Q: Opt out of the new upvote/downvote buttons?

M.G.I guess most of you have noticed by now the new upvote/downvote buttons. This seems to be in line with all the other SE sites (though I admit I haven't checked each and every one of them). Does MO have to accept these cosmetic changes or is there any way to opt out? Personally, I find them hideou...

The design of meta voting buttons has been changed so at least now it's obvious if one has voted. — David Roberts ♦ 4 hours ago

Q: It’s hard to tell how I’ve voted on meta sites. Please make selected and unselected vote buttons different colors

The CM who posted the answer there posted the same answer to some other places: I can't see if I've already voted on something and Selected voting buttons on meta could use more contrast.
I am mentioning this mainly because of this part:
> On the network sites (excluding Meta) the coloration of the voting buttons varies based on the theme of the site, so they don’t look the same everywhere. If there are specific sites where you are finding the same problem of visibility after voting, please let us know in the comments here.
So I guess it the distinction is not sufficient on the main MO site, this would be a possible place where to bring up this specific issue.
Although to me the distinction here on MO seems visible enough. (At least more than on Mathematics.)
