@ToddTrimble What do you think about the question Magical $\mathbb{Z}\times\mathbb{Z}$-square?
Should it now be closed as a duplicate of Magic $\mathbb{Z}\times\mathbb{Z}$-square?
The whole timeline was:
Oct 14 at 18:15: The original question was posted and closed: mathoverflow.net/posts/343812/revisions
Oct 17 at 07:43: The "density version" was posted: mathoverflow.net/posts/344011/revisions mathoverflow.net/posts/344011/timeline
Oct 17 at 16:26: I have answered the "density version", but the answer in fact answers the original (stronger) version.
Oct 18 at 09:50: The original question was reponed: mathoverflow.net/posts/343812/revisions mathoverflow.net/posts/343812/timeline
So now there are two questions which ask basically the same think. (One of them contains both the original version - which was edited in by YCor - and the density version.)
I would be tempted to vote to close as a duplicate, but since I was involved in the question as an answerer, I decided to ask for advice first.
YCor's advice on the version which was closed and now reponed seems quite reasonable, too:
@DominicvanderZypen I've copied the question here to the other thread. I suggest you delete this one since it doesn't need to be in 2 threads. (For memory, the question was initially downvoted and closed because the sum was not specified to be from $-N$ to $+N$, so the convergence was obviously impossible). — YCor 12 hours ago
Of course, a separate issue is whether (either version of) this question would be more suitable for Mathematics than for MathOverflow.

Perhaps merging the two question would be an option, too. (Maybe Dominic van der Zypen or somebody else has already flagged the two questions for merging.)
At the very least, merging seems like a more reasonable option now - after the newer question has been edited to include the original version - than it did before the edit.

@MartinSleziak In case of a merging, there are a lot of comments to the original question (343812) which are obsolete now, due to the unclear way the question was originally asked. Actually I think that only part of Tir's comment (who provides a published slightly related link) is worth pasting. Of course this can be done manually in case Question 343812 is closed.

Moderators know this probably better, but on the sites where questions are merged, typically the mods also clean up the comments.
Mods of this site are probably not big fans of merging - I only see 15 questions which were merged.
In this specific case, simply closing as a duplicate seems as a more reasonable option to me.
As you said, merging would possibly preserve some useful comments. (And also it would move the answers to the original question.)
As I said above, a separate question is whether this question should be on MO at all. (And whether it would be more suitable for Mathematics.)
In any case, I have already cast a duplicate close vote - now it's up to the other users.
@YCor Since this is the first time I've met you in chat - and since you are the most active editor on the site - I'll mention that there is also the room called MO editors' lounge.
It was started long ago by quid and when both quid and Ricardo Andrade were on the site, it was relatively active.
I'm mentioning it just in case some of the staff in the room might be interesting for you. (Maybe eventually there will be more users on MO interested in editing and maintaining the tag-system - so there's some hope that the room might become active again at some point in futer.)
