@MartinSleziak who says there is no need for chat by MathOverflow community? your unfreezing msgs could be argued to be exactly that (artificial stimulus). re the meta post, did not know that this site does not have community ads, am surprised, hope policy chgs at some point, although nobody seems to care at the moment and long after your (old) post, there is no action

strange, just clicked on "chat" on the MO home page and it goes to my personal list of starred chatrooms. same for other sites eg Computer Science... bug?

@vzn I think that whenever you go to chat.stackexchange.com/rooms you are displayed one of the tabs above: site/favorite/all. Which one is displayed depends on which one you choose last time. (So if was using "favorite" tab the last time I displayed chat rooms, this tab will be shown to me now.)

There were a few discussions about chat here on meta, but nothing relevant.

Re: "who says there is no need for chat by MathOverflow community?" I would say experience. If MO users really felt the need to chat with each other, this room would probably have much more than 3k messages.

@MartinSleziak blogs were not used by mathematicians for a long time, now there are some excellent mathematician blogs. think chat might be similarly "ahead of its time"/ underutilized by the community :(
