Hello @ThatOneNerdyBoy if you want to chat here, please request access!
welcome here btw

i've become picky... i'm looking at a cryptic clue with "left hand" = H and i'm like "hmm, don't like this"

@jafe that's called improvement :)
@jafe can "and behold" clue "lo"? (lo and behold)
thanks
(making a puzzle again ;) )

you can just use "behold" (lo is a synonym for that)

ok thanks

in general i don't think "and Y" is a valid clue for X even if there is "X and Y"
in a straight crossword it might work with a dash in front
to indicate that the missing word is at the beginning
but without that it's pretty hard to figure out that 1) "and Y" is one thing and 2) what word it might refer to
since there might be other words that can go with "and Y"
liked your meta a lot btw
i had solved zero percent when deusovi had figured it all out

thanks (i liked it a lot too)
@jafe the nonogram?
@jafe realised there isnt much rush-hours out there ;)

oh true i did figure out it was a nonogram :)
had no idea about what to do with the animals though

@jafe reason for
and a warm welcome to @ThatOneNerdyBoy

**CCCC** here is similar to that in the Sphinx Lair: A user posts a cryptic clue. The one who solves it make up the next. A chain is thus formed. However, due to the small population in this room, a SPOIL ANSWER option is added. When half or more of the players in the game agree on spoiling, the OP will spoil the answer. The first one to request a spoil will get to make the next clue.

**Joining the game:** When a new user answers a clue, they will automatically become part of the list

**Players in the game: (in alphabetical order)** @Dmihawk @jafe @MrPie @OmegaKrypton @PiIsNot3

Q: Cryptic Clue Guide

Deusovi This post is not a puzzle. There is nothing puzzly hidden inside it or the self-answer, posted at the same time. What exactly is a cryptic crossword clue, and how do I write one?

@ThatOneNerdyBoy this is called a ping, where the @someone is notified

Thanks, @OmegaKrypton! I'll check it out!

Welcome! Feel free to ask if you have any problems!

@OmegaKrypton I am fairly new to these kinds of puzzles, so I may be slow at first. But I am looking to learn, and I love creating my own puzzles (something I have dabbled in on another website).
