Call for edit: incorporate correction in comments into CW answer, by answerer's request. #299160

Call for vote: correct answer to #144467 had -1 score. I brought it up to 0, but it needs another one.

Same thing (correct answer had -1) with #371089

And to #$161173$.

And to #$36356$.
And to #$332761$.

7:19 AM
And that last one is now resolved.
As is #$36356$.

@Brian They are all resolved.

@Lord_Farin Thanks; I was planning to check eventually, but those last two were actually brought to my attention.

What should be done about questions like this which have been crossposted to MO: math.stackexchange.com/questions/287023/…?

8:17 AM
@AndrewSalmon It depends. If you feel the question has received a satisfactory answer on MO, you are encouraged to port it to MSE. Some questions that are crossposted are actually not solved to such a satisfactory extent; these should just remain unanswered, as that's what they are.

A template in meta.math.stackexchange.com/questions/4925/… would also be helpful. Something like: Can you convert your comments to an answer, so that it gets removed from the unanswered tab. Maybe including some link to one of the meta-posts on that.

@Julian Good idea. A further thing that would be nice to include would be a link to this room with the request to post a notification of the appearance of an answer to the question.

@Lord_Farin Do you want to start one?

@JulianKuelshammer I haven't decided on which meta post(s) should be referred to. If you have, please go ahead.

10:38 AM
@JulianKuelshammer Yes, that seems like the most "canonical" Unanswered thread.

Question answered in comments but no response to the query to convert it to an answer: math.stackexchange.com/questions/167622/…

10:59 AM
@Lord_Farin: My first try, please comment on it:
@... Please consider converting your comment into an answer, so that it gets removed from the unanswered tab. If you do so, it is helpful to post it to this chat room to make people aware of it, so that it gets an upvote, which it needs for being removed from the tab.
For further reading upon the issue of too many unanswered questions, see here, here or here.
first problem: it's too long by 25 characters
I would think of deleting "which it needs for being removed from the tab"
@Lord_Farin I posted it to the list of comment templates. Feel free to edit it.

11:41 AM
@JulianKuelshammer One way to shorten it without changing content is to somehow combine the third link at the end with the link to the chat room. E.g. "it is helpful to post it to the chatroom linked in this post".

@JulianKuelshammer Edited. There's now 65+3 (from the ...) characters to fit the username, which should be sufficient.
The last part from a share link is your user ID (in your case. /15416 for MSE links). It is used to keep track of the number of visits through that link, for some badges.

A: Turning the tensor product of algebras into an algebra

Qiaochu YuanI think this is a typo. The correct map is $\alpha \mapsto f(\alpha) \otimes 1_C = 1_B \otimes g(\alpha)$.

Forgot to mention: all above are (graph-theory).
How accurate is the queue? It looks like earlier it was at 23850, but now, it says 24133.

@AndrewSalmon Hm, I'd say that's a glitch. It's at 23830 for me now.

@Lord_Farin Well, actually, you might be looking at math.stackexchange.com/unanswered/tagged/?tab=newest, while I was looking at math.stackexchange.com/questions?sort=unanswered
Why do they calculate these differently?
Also, can you at least upvote the two CW answers I posted here earlier?

@AndrewSalmon I'm sorry, I'm out of votes for today.
@AndrewSalmon I'll check on Meta StackOverflow.

How many votes do we get per day?

Orly? thanks.
I did not know that.

9:08 PM
@AndrewSalmon There is no matching post on MSO, but I've noticed the discrepancy exists on other sites too.

@Lord_Farin Interesting.

9:40 PM
What should be done if someone posts an incomplete answer to their own question? See math.stackexchange.com/questions/414258/…. It's very close to being right, but it's missing a key step. How should we go about taking it off the "unanswered" list?
