@cegaton sadly. I have seen too many extremely low quality posts recently. (even from users that should know better)
@Scalia its odd, but whatever. Strange thing is when I read it I did not detect and nasty tone...
@VRM you were driving, or you were along for a 1500 mi car ride?

VRM
yes

no which?

1 hour later…
1:59 AM
If I had to guess, I'd say both - One does not simply drive for 1,500 miles

2:31 AM
@X-27 i would drive 500 miles
and i would drive 500 more
just to be the one who wakes up next to you
@VRM @GiantCowFilms @GiantCowFilms (maybe @David?) idk why my computer isnt using all my ram'
i had 4 to begin with (2x2) and it was only able to use 3?
i just installed 2x1, so now i have six
still only 3
useable
i understand maybe the new ones arent compatible but why wouldnt the old ones be able to opperate fully
also what stack exchange would i ask this question on

VRM
Reset the CMOS, make sure your BIOS is up to date, and make sure you are using the right slots

@Scalia try swapping them around. You could have a dead ram stick or a dead socket.

No the connection is fine, the bios picks up all 6 and the windows does too, it just says 3 of 6 enabled

8 hours later…
12:00 PM
@Scalia what version of windows do you have?

1 hour later…
VRM
1:23 PM
@Scalia I have never had that problem . . . might be a dead stick

VRM
2:15 PM
hahaha got After Effects using 53 GB of RAM rendering

3:05 PM
whoa...
That is a lot XD

1 hour later…
4:06 PM
@David 7 x32
My Ubuntu 15.04 x32 can pull all 6
@VRM then it wouldn't be able to show it as existing at all, right?
I've already gone in and checked for memory limit it's disabled
And I don't need to hike map Because my other partition can pull all 6 so that's not the issue
The voltage is high enough (I believe) for the new hardware, but if I try to increase it anymore my PC just don't turn in
On

1 hour later…
5:17 PM
@VRM Not surpised

VRM
@Scalia I thought there was a hard limit on 32 bit Ubuntu versions? Although I thought it was 4 or 8 GB

@Scalia thats the issue win 7 32bit only can use up to 4gb.
and ubuntu using all 6 confirms that they are all working.

VRM
Yep
@Scalia just curious, why are you using 32 bit?

Windows 7 64bit memory limits
Starter: 8GB
Home Basic: 8GB
Home Premium: 16GB
Professional: 192GB
Enterprise: 192GB
Ultimate: 192GB
32 bit is just 4GB

5:34 PM
Yeh I just found out about the limit
Anyone know how to upgrade to 64?
@David @David so I need to upgrade huh

6:33 PM
@VRM That will only cost your and your families entire life's savings, plus some :P

VRM
ikr, RAM is so expensive

@VRM vram is more expensive...

VRM
not sure about that

Well, it seems it because the graphics cards with a lot of ram cost quite a bit
If you could buy just the vram, it might be similar in price

3 hours later…
10:02 PM
@David Or we need a petition to get you to move to linux, maybe even a thing where you pay a certain amount of money and you get to vote on what distro :P
