I have a blender project with a massive fluid sim... Is there a way to make blender not load it so that I can play animations at less than .01 FPS and without using up more ram than Chrome.

I tried disabling and editor visibility for it, but, I don't think that it worked.

When I press alt+a, The little bar at the top says "compositing"

The smoke makes it take years? yikes. What version were you using when you started your render? You might try updating to a newer version that has been released in recent months - I've heard they are much faster then the versions from 2015-2016, — X-27 40 secs ago

I have a specific layout for everything on my desk, where each beverage goes depending on type and combination, opening a Blender file with a different layout really annoys me. etc etc
