Hey GiantCowFilms I'm the guy who commented (and benefited heavily from!) on your BB8 tutorial...I was wonder though if you could help me with a sort of related problem...I'm trying to rig R2D2 along a path and I want to make it so that he moves perfectly along the path without going through the mesh

@lakerice Interesting question, although the provided blend file lags badly when I scrub through the timeline, which makes it hard to test anything.

any possibility you could make a simplified file?

Also, does R2 have a rig? What objects should I modify to rotate his feet exetra. To make him follow the ground correctly, he will need a rig of sorts.

I haven't rigged him yet...he has some sort of fake wheels under his feet that I didn't think needed to turn (since you can't really see them). I'll work on the blend being simplified...I tried to delete as much of the polys as possible (meshes for the landscapes but it still seems to be a huge file for some reason.

@GiantCowFilms OK I have posted a rigged version (just his wheels). The empty that rotates his wheels has been parented to the main body (cylinder) so to move him you just have to move the big cylinder of his body. drive.google.com/open?id=1sVkaEBzCUz3j7229HZmXibsGr2cc-36c

LOL - That is even BETTER, combining good old Windows crashing, with a rubber chicken!
