Q: Baked normal maps getting altered on save

When baking normal maps in Cycles, the map comes out correct if baked "selected to active", otherwise it comes out too bright and blown-out. you can use a diamond mining cell to pull grass and dirt and it doesn't wear on the cell?

I had a brand new one, started pulling grass, and it didn't wear down at all.

@X-27 so if you go to the original start point, i think is thoms house now, and head due west, theres a pillar of dirt, 99 high, and the base of it is my hole. follow that hole all the way to the bottom is my cave, and then my house is behind a mineral waterfall

the corrupted layer is even worse. there is Noooo way to know where you are

i just want to level the bottom of the cavern a little, clear the obstructions just so it's easier to navigate.

everything looks the same, you can only follow your trail of lamps.

It was an amazing improvement

Slower GPUs will have less pronounced benefits, but it still looks like a huge time saver

@x-27 Did you know that you can mine dirt and some stone without a power cell? just remove the cell from the first slot on your gauntlet and you can mine soft stuff like top layer rock and dirt forever without using up powercells

@NᴏᴠɪᴄᴇIɴDɪsɢᴜɪsᴇ @x-27 The Tar is still a little bit buggy -- if often won't flow, so you have to quit and restart to get it to be infinitely flowing. But, that was before the update today, so maybe it's fixed, idk.

@ThomBlairIII oh I knew that, I often have my gauntlet slot empty in the quick menu, and then have each power cell in ascending order.

the new map feature is pretty neat!

I always mined dirt, grass, trees, and sand without a cell as to not waste the good ones

I was hoping for one!

yeah, me too

now that I know it doesn't hurt the really good cells to mine regular dirt, I'm using the diamond one for ground clearing due to its really fast pulling speed

once I get the luminte one, I'll be able to tear apart the ground.
