Q: Best practice for protecting routes in Next 14 using client Firebase Authentication

AndrianI'm working on a Next 14 application where I want to protect certain pages. I implemented client auth using Firebase so currently the authentication logic runs client-side to check if the user is logged in or not, and based on that, either allow access to the page or redirect to the login page. N...

@pacmaninbw I've reworded to make that pedantically correct. You're right that close() doesn't return the stream, but I'd believed it was clear enough to be understandable. (Interestingly, flush() does return the stream, as a reference, so it might make sense to use that).

@TobySpeight Since Indy also posted about it. I did some checking on the internet. The code is significantly changed, doesn't default to an output file, but that can be specified on the command line if the user wants, rather than using the redirection of output from standard out. The code calls flush at the end every function and checks the result. I'll be posting the new version today or tomorrow for a new review.
I found out about swapping the rdbuf for a file and std::cout. The code only writes to std::cout but the command line can over ride the file buffer. The program now accepts a command line, the output now includes the command line to regenerate the file, even if the user inputs the data during the program run.
@TobySpeight You were correct, I needed to do research to understand. Getting too far behind again.
There are other changes, such as ALL typedefs are removed in both the generator and the generated code (Indy pointed this out).

Q: Figure/number to text converter javascript implementation

user287088Developed around chain of responsibilities design pattern, it consists of a series of converters returning arrays of string that could be used either to look up text mapped to the keys, for internationalisation, or to display the literary form of numbers. var formatter = (mapper) => { return ...

Q: Type-agnostic configuration-table in sqlalchemy

FooBarI'm building my first bigger database-backend with sqlalchemy and need a table to store configurations (key-value pairs). Keys are strings, values can be quite different, and I'd like to keep the variable-type. This is what I came up with: class Configuration(Base): __tablename__ = "configura...

Q: Representing directions as an enum of immutable vectors compatible with numpy

minseongTo represent direction in a 2D word grid game (like Scrabble), I wanted to make a class that only has specified instances available and cannot be further instantiated (like an enum). I would also like the class to behave the rest of the time like a numpy array, so that I can easily perform vector...

Q: Custom Component Using MUI for a Comprehensive Grid Layout

cr4zI'm looking to get feedback on a React component that a colleague of mine wrote. It utilizes Material-UI components to create a dynamic grid layout, which includes various conditional renderings and props for customization. The component is intended to be flexible, but I am concerned whether the ...
