Q: Basic OpenGL application that renders multiple cubes on a textured plane, setup for a 3D game

GM997I'm learning OpenGL and started work on a small 3D game (like Sokoban) for practice. I want to know if the design of my OpenGL code reflects a good understanding of the technology. For example, one problem I ran into was how to handle drawing multiple objects with different shaders, which I fixed...

Q: JavaFX Spell Checker

trilogyI have a functional spell checker here. I'd like another set of eyes on this. Is there any way to reduce the memory footprint of this or improve the performance without sacrificing readability and function? All I can think of right now is to change ArrayLists into Arrays... Is there maybe a more...

Answered a zombie which had an answer of -1.

@pacmaninbw "it is unsigned and can't go negative"
Well, yes, that's because it is unsigned.
Those are not the only advantages of a size_t though.
Benefit of size_t is that it's always big enough since it's the result of the sizeof operator.
Thus the whole int vs long vs long long no longer applies.

True. Feel free to edit.
I'm just doing my best to decrease the number of zombies.
Especially ones that have been answered in some form.
I'm up voting what I can, and answering what I must.

@cdhowie I get that code review is for reviewing working code, but it's a bit silly to break the code just so that it's on topic for StackOverflow? I could break it on purpose and then write my own answer? But that's not very encouraged either. I think this question could be useful for people googling this exact question, looking for working code in an answer. — Cornelius Roemer just now

@pacmaninbw bottom bunk, though he likely would have been fine with the top bunk

@Duga Love the concept, break the code just to post on SO

The Veritable BugeaterI want to differentiate between argparse args marked as action='store' -vs- args marked as action='append'. What's a "better solution" is the part of your question that would need to be refined. If it is to be evaluated in terms of clarity, I find yours pretty legible, and as such very good in terms of maintenance : it reflects business rules, so it's quite easy to update if requirements were to change. As opposed to one-liners, for instance. And performancewise, no input value requires more than 4 tests ; one-liners wouldn't test less, I guess. Maybe create and use constants for strings, as they might change in bulk. My 20 cents. As @T Go to codereview ;-) — Alain BECKER 56 secs ago
