Fun thing is, when I started programming I intended to master one ore two languages. Now I'm familiar with more than two hands full and mastered none.
@Quill There are many great articles about it.

When I started programming, I had a problem: I couldn't grok OOP. I decided to learn Java as a first language, and then I had two problems.

Should've picked ASM.

@Mast Most CS teachers & co. say master 1 or 2 and don't learn the rest. Screw them.

@Mast It wasn't that I didn't like OOP, it's that I didn't understand it (I was 13, in my defense).

@Mast That was just superficial clean up of the, mess, the macro recorder spits out.

@DanPantry That would be a really long time period to #BlameCaching for.

@Quill There's a lot of Vanilla JS I don't know. I don't use much of the DOM model beyond querySelector etc. There's a reason it is said that programmers are paid Googlers.

That's it. I'm convinced. VB is an esoteric language.

All languages get their own tag. Don't categorise them.
The nature of a language is quite irrelevant.

It might be useful to tag it as being a newly constructed language.

@Phrancis Technically Brainfuck isn't a golfing language either.
@Duga Fixed and commented.

Did PPCG infect you with esoteric languages?
and afternonking.

@EasterlyIrk PPCG infects everything it comes in contact with.

Infectivity:
0: Non-existent
1: Very low
2: Low
3: Moderate
4: High
5: Very high
6: ???
7: PPCG
Anyway, to each his own.
We can make any language shine.
Regardless of it's original intention.
Come at us with HQ9+ and we'll make it shine.

Does anyone here know of a way to automatically disable an inline script from running on a certain page? For example, how would I block a certain <script> on example.com from running automatically? I can't find any working tools for this.

@SirPython Adblock doesn't cut it?
You could use NoScript.

9:48 PM
I've been playing around with AdBlock Plus and SafeScript (which I believe is the Chrome equivalent of NoScript), but to no avail.

Can't you add a custom rule to SafeScript/NoScript to fix that?

11 OR BUST!!!
@Mast brb figuring out what to do

@EasterlyIrk Just don't come at us with 99 bottles of beer on the wall.
There's only one logical solution for that and if you post that the valid answer will be 'Looks good'.

dangit that was my idea

@Mast The rules for ScriptSafe relied on URLs... this script doesn't have a URL.

9:51 PM
@EasterlyIrk Try a TCP/IP server, or FizzBuzz.
We got so many of them it's badgeable.

@Mast Do you know how many commands HQ9+ has?

@SirPython The site on which the script is executed could be blocked IIRC.
As in, prohibit that site from executing scripts.

It can't take input or print output.....

But I need just about ever other script on that page to run, too.

@EasterlyIrk 4.

9:53 PM
Yes.

@SirPython That's a problem :P

Now how many of those can take input?

@EasterlyIrk One.

eeeehhhgg wrong answer.

Q prints the source code.
That's definitely input.

9:54 PM
Is not.
How does that count?

Semantics.
So how about HQ9++?

@rolfl I know a few guys who will welcome such badge

@Mast Still nothing.
Maybe CHIQRSX9+ works.
and HQ9+B doesn't count.
oooh how about bf?

@Mast Do you know of someone else that might know of such a tool?

What tool?

9:58 PM
@EasterlyIrk One of our moderators is very busy writing an IDE for that.

Q: FizzBuzz in Brainfuck

Simon ForsbergInspired a bit by a previous Brainfuck question and the recent fizzbuzz invasion, I decided to make FizzBuzz in Brainfuck. The code is entirely my own, except for the inclusion of the Printing a number algorithm that I found on StackOverflow. My code is divided into several parts. Setup Const...

Tampermonkey has a @include thing.

@SirPython You're looking for something very specific. What do you have, a script name?
A target?
What does it do that you don't want it to do?
Can you interrupt it's dependencies?

The script is just a script; no attributes other than the text/javascript thing. I do not want it to run. It loads and runs before I can interrupt any dependencies.

I got 2707 views on one of my BF questions. Not sure whether that's awesome or horrifying.

10:01 PM
Hey, if I could find a way to get a script of mine to run before it, then I would be set.

@SirPython Tampermonkey.

I am using that.
Even that doesn't work.

Why not, does it execute after the script has run?

Yes. I even set the US to run the very first second it possibly can, but that is still after the other script.

Then make the second script run slower?

10:03 PM
How? It's out of my control.
My script also has the same dependencies.

You'll need a filter.
Every script on that page needs your specific permission to run or shouldn't run at all.

In that case, is there a built-in filter on Chrome/Firefox?

Ghostery might do it.

Eric slippery gave me a what's up today...

@EasterlyIrk If BF isn't your thing, you could introduce us to exotic languages like Zetaplex.

10:10 PM
sure

We don't have any yet either.
Just make sure you read this:

rolfl I have a project I am working on, and I would like some, or all of it reviewed, how can I ask for this review on Code Review in a way that produces the best possible value? This is not about a question being on-topic, or off topic. Rather, this is about making on-topic questions great qu...

Q: You have no respect for logic

MastInspired by Hosch250, TopinFrassi, Legato and the recent milestone of having our 100th fizzbuzz question on Code Review I decided to add an ArnoldC FizzBuzz to the collection. I haven't found any best practices about the language, but I assume the code needs to be VERBOSE. For those unfamiliar w...

For some reason the 'fun' questions do a lot better than the serious ones.

Q: Using PHP's password_hash and password_verify for a login function

Joe ScottoThis is my first time using password_hash and password_verify in PHP. Would this be the correct usage of password_hash and password_verify to log the user into the site? Is there anything I could do to make this function more secure? /** * Initiates User Login * @param mixed $data Post data ...

For example, this serious question only got 63 views and not many votes, while this question went HNQ with lots of views.

Q: Generating days in a specific range

Miguel AvendañoI have a query in MSSQL, where I get a summary by days from a range in a table, and this is in union with other queries.
