On the other hand, comments like that are technically unnecessary, and if they are flagged, as a moderator, my duty is to remove them ;-)

best of both worlds: put that comment, then remove it yourself - the person that wrote the post you commented on will be notified anyway.

How should I review this C# code, which doesn't really look like C#?
