Yeah, that happens sometimes. So when I see a good new user who had the sense to accept, I upvote to encourage

(dead baby unicorns here)

(nothing to see here?)

@SimonAndréForsberg ... because too many messages came in between before I could finish the thought

(moving on)

10:01 PM
Did dead unicorns ever make it in to the memes?

@rolfl the old memes, not the new ones

A: Call of Duty - We're on a mission

Mat's MugSome "memes"... A few expressions have come up recently, thought I'd share them here (feel free to add, this is CW!) Running out of ammo: when you have exhausted all 40 votes for the day. Head shot: when you're out of ammo and post a target in chat, and then someone puts in a vote for you. Wak...

huh, it's not worth adding, been unused for too long.

yes
we have enough memes as it is

@SimonAndréForsberg No, it was MORTAL's latest one.

@SimonAndréForsberg Never enough memes!

10:03 PM
@Jamal I'm immortal then? Fine by me :)

@markhamden just setting write-permissions

what a good day to wake up for :D
If I could upvote you here I would. This was EXACTLY what I needed. — CottonHill 4 hours ago
and he marked it as an answer, and he is appreciative. wish we had more of these newbies

Successful pimp there ;-)

@Mehrad newbies that gets upvotes on Stack Overflow? oh yes.

@rolfl honestly I was genuinely happy to see such a comment. somehow something about pimping that I don't like and most of the time, try not to link the talks to the actual question. but this one was just nice
and my question also got pimped, so can't thank you Santas more... you rock

10:09 PM
@Mehrad - I have a real quandry with comments like that.

I guess the more I get close to 1K I get greedier... should fight the urges :D

technically "Thanks" comments are chatty, and should be deleted.
but I really, really like them, and I think it makes more people vote too.

@Mehrad I'm close to 30K on CR and I also feel greedy at times :)
@rolfl oh yes. If I see a happy customer, I tend to upvote the answer more often

can't agree more @rolfl

I take the coward's route.... ;-)
If I see them, I leave them.
if someone flags them, I remove them

10:11 PM
@rolfl somebody needs to be responsible and do nothing at the end of day

out of curiosity, any body present atm is involved in the RubberDock project by any chance?

Next time anyone asks how ugly their code looks, show them this:

@SimonAndréForsberg - you should get a hair-cut.

@rolfl ha - ha - ha.

@SimonAndréForsberg : ))))))))))))))

I should though. My hair is starting to get long. But I have much more curly hair than that. And not white.

10:14 PM
this is amazing
So we keep this for the old ugly codes

@rolfl That, precisely, is why we're allowed to comment on any aspect of the code!

@rolfl star star star star

chrome is handy. If an ugly image annoys me, just right-click -> Inspect Element -> Del -> whoosh, bye bye ugly thing

Q: How can I clean this up? (FIRST PROGRAM!)

JackHere you see my first ever "program"! What it is supposed to do is explained in the comments, because it was already in there when I started making it. I am totally new to C++, I have about 2 weeks of experience. I've already done quite a bit of cleaning up, for example the strings "dryCheck" and...

@CaptainObvious How can I word this up? (FIRST TITLE!)

@CaptainObvious using namespace std;

WEEKEND!

Anyone need some votes?
I haven't run out yet.

Q: Spring configuration without XML is this reality?

Marc-AndreWe're doing a website for Cardshifter, and now I've converted the plain html files and css into a Spring MVC web application. Here is the typical configuration classes that I used in most of the project I work with. package com.cardshifter.io.web.config; import org.springframework.context.anno...

11:04 PM
Too bad that wasn't HTML/CSS.

@Hosch250 did you remember to vote on Henrik's question?

@Gemtastic You've been asking about Spring, right?
@SimonAndréForsberg Yup, I went through my favorites and voted on them.

@Hosch250 This might be one-away.

5 left.
All gone.
@Mehrad I've done a tiny mite, but I'm not officially involved.
What do you want?

11:22 PM
yay
I was so looking forward to get a +2 for my edit than +15 for my answers to nail the sharp 1000 :D
@Hosch250 So, can I ask questions if I have problems installing it and trying to debug it?

@Mehrad and now you're at 1010

Probably.

Just wanted to see if I can get involved
@SimonAndréForsberg damn damn damn Hope the screenshot is still in the clipboard
Love you Ditto :D

@Mat'sMug and @RubberDuck would be more than happy for you to get involved, and would probably help you if you had trouble. (I've seen nothing that would indicate otherwise!)

I was just about to ping them and ask for permission.

11:27 PM
@Mehrad If you go into your account, you can open your browsers f12 tools and edit your rep to display much higher than you have.
It doesn't change in the system, though.

@SimonAndréForsberg I am going with the speed of LIGHT. (not really ;P)

Hey Crappy, seen the vi/vim proposal hit 100% commitment?

Anybody want to give me any feedback on my next blog article?

@Hosch250 hahaha... hard work mate :D

@rolfl: No. Again?

11:28 PM
Yeah, the second kick at the can that I know of....

@CrappyExperienceBye I am a big defender of VI/VIM... how can I help?/+1/Cheer up?

@CrappyExperienceBye perhaps you want to use Google Code Prettify for the code instead of images?

Following @rolfl's suggestion of many small answers:

A: Seed to Flower/Mushroom

Hosch250Just some quick pointers here to get the more obvious details out of the way. First, you should not use using namespace std;, but rather explicitly state which namespace you are using like this std::cout. This prevents namespace clashes, and is discussed in great detail here. Second, you shoul...

About your blog post, there's no way I'll try to criticize your C++ code ;-)
I can tell you there's a few typos in there though

@rolfl Anything helps. Dyslexia stops me seeing typos.

or initializing?

^^ suggested change

Thanks guys.
I am using octopress (hosted on github) and it generates the code portions from markdown. I did not realize they were images until you pointed it out (which is rather lame as it prevents copying). I will have a look around for an alternative (hopefully octopress 3.0 will fix that).

Hello
Something needs to be done here:

Q: Javascript constructor function creating object vs regular object

DaliborSorry about the maybe misleading title, but I wonder why is this way of creating objects and adding properties and methods: //A) var myObjCreatedByFunction = function() { this.prop1 = "a"; this.func1 = function() { alert("a"); } }; and then using prototype to create additional methods...

11:58 PM
@Duga is it time?
