Q: Port Brzozowski Algebraic Method from OCaml to Mathematica

138 AspenThe Brzozowski Algebraic Method is a technique used in automata theory, specifically for constructing the minimal deterministic finite automaton (DFA) from a given nondeterministic finite automaton (NFA). It was introduced by Janusz Brzozowski in 1962 and involves the use of algebraic transformat...

Well actually, I am trying to be helpful. If you follow Python style conventions (i.e. that class names should start with an uppercase letter) and the requirements you have been given, you run into less problems. And less push-back in code reviews, if/when you land your first decent programming job. (And if you are not willing to take the advice of people who are more experienced than you are ... well good luck to you.) — Stephen C 2 mins ago

Q: Nostr Oauth 2 authentication using Fastapi

uakI liked the idea of being able to authenticate using your own private key using Nostr protocol. The idea is based on events, so you prove your identity by signing an event. It's close to Wallet Connect used in web3 and Metamask but not related to crypto currency directly and it's used in Nostr so...

@Duga Removed the code markdown from a quoted equation that is maths rather than code.

Q: Simulating Conway's Game of Life

editionI'm a novice with Rust, with a background in C++, and I'm trying to implement an efficient program for simulating Conway's game of life. I would like to eliminate redundant copying, and to make it utilize more CPU cores and memory. use std::{io::*}; use std::env::current_exe; use std::mem::swap; ...

Q: McNaughton-Yamada-Thompson algorithm for converting regex to NDFA

138 AspenThe McNaughton-Yamada-Thompson algorithm (aka. Thompson algorithm) is designed to transform a regular expression into a Non-Deterministic Finite Automaton (NDFA) that recognizes the language represented by the regular expression. There are many Implementations of McNaughton-Yamada-Thompson algori...

This code works -- modulo the fact that the iterator never returns None... It seems that what you want is to discuss how to improve the code, rather than bugs in the code itself. If this is the case, then this is off-topic for Stack Overflow, and instead should be posted on codereview.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/rustMatthieu M. 1 min ago

Q: Splitting Rust Strings into variables

CarcophanI'm learning Rust and I'd like advice on how to make my code more idiomatic. I have a set of entries that are colon separated string-number pairs, a name and a size, like so: "foo:1234" " bar:943" "baz:666" I want to split these into two variables, a String and a u64 which the code below does bu...

Was at a customer site the last few days working on fixing some program issues, I need to have a talk with one of our guys about writing decent code. He made the biggest, ugliest block of ladder just to add a few numbers and move them into a couple registers.
@DerKommissar Sounds like time for a code review. ;)

Q: Code to generate an array of 364 random special characters with 20 random words broken up throughout

DaltonI am trying to recreate a Fallout 4 style terminal hacking game, so I wanted to create code to generate the terminal output (namely, 32 rows with 12 characters each and 20 random words spread out). Everything in this output array is being treated as a separate character and then output onto the p...

@Mast I'm not sure the code isn't working.
I would much rather have the person that down votes provide a comment. I do.

Q: Why are irregular shaped orbits made when using if statements to decide when to apply gravity?

PrivvetI created a Python file that uses Pygame to render a simple 2 dimensional gravity simulator. The full code can be found here: https://pastebin.com/DtQ5xFwf I thought that the gravity ran perfectly and produced beautiful orbits, but when I turn the planets' trails on, I see that their orbits are n...
