Q: Python list subclass with O(1) prepend / How to get bisect to work with reverse sorted list

josevilleFor a particular problem, I need to have a list that: supports O(1) prepend, and that I can call bisect.bisect_left on, which means the list must be sorted. Prepending to a list via list.insert(0, item) is O(N); however, O(1) prepend can be emulated by maintaining the list in reverse order in w...

Before you post at Code Review, make sure to read A guide to Code Review for Stack Overflow users, as some things are done differently over there - e.g. question titles should simply say what the code does, as the question is always, "How can I improve this?". Be sure that the code works correctly; include your unit tests if possible. You'll likely get some suggestions on making it more efficient, easier to read, and better tested. — Toby Speight just now

Q: How to change the String format in Java?

Hmmmmmmm. codereview.stackexchange.com/questions/269132/… was deleted with no hint as to why. In the past some deletions have been considered vandalism and undone. Does that apply here?
well, I'll ask on meta because I can't find anything

@Reinderien It says it was deleted by the author, there won't be a reason.

@pacmaninbw Right. I mean, the author had some reason, it's just a mystery to me.

Q: When is question deletion vandalism?

ReinderienIn the past (I have no examples on hand), sometimes when an OP deletes a question it's un-deleted, with the rationale that the content offers value to StackExchange and deleting it thus constitutes vandalism. Originally, React mainly used class components, which can be strenuous at times as you always had to switch between classes, higher-order components, and render props. With React hooks, you can now do all these without switching, using functional components.

Yes there is room for improvement but Code Review might be a better place to ask. — Johnny Mopp just now
here and at Code Review you should present a complete code. Not so much here, but at code review the code should be correct and working. The code you posted will cause a wall of compiler errors, thats some room for improvement — 463035818_is_not_a_number 38 secs ago

Is anyone an expert on certificates around here? play.minesweeperflags.net apparently has a broken certificate chain somehow according to iOS devices, and I haven't been able to figure out why.

Looks like the root cert may have expired on IOS - techcrunch.com/2021/09/21/lets-encrypt-root-expiry/…

@Peilonrayz But I renewed the certificate a day or two ago? How can I change the root certificate? 😕

I think the issue is the client hasn't updated the root certs list - reddit.com/r/apple/comments/pzvw7k/…
> Disappointing that Apple didn't plan for root certs expiring.
Right, thanks Apple

@Peilonrayz So there's nothing I can do, instead I have to tell users of the site to fix it on their side?

I'm finding that this breaks my web app running in Opera and Chrome on my late `09 Mac Mini running OSX 10.11.6. But the app runs fine Firefox on that old Mac.

10:22 PM
I, admittedly, know only a little about certs, like the basics of most of it. So grain lump of salt, yes I think you have to tell the user to fix the cert on their end. I think the user could use another browser as AFAIK most major browsers (Chrome and FF) provide their own root cert databases

I have a 14 year old macbook but I don't really turn it on anymore...

@SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ Oh, maybe just FF provides a root cert database

@Peilonrayz Ok, thanks
Good to know that it's not my fault at least. I can live with that.
