well done
I have another 50+ to go I reckon

You can see in the Review Queue.
If you have 500 rep.

and not sure about the ratio. I might go forever and never get it cuz I upvote only when it's good

No, you need 600 votes on questions with .25 of your votes on questions.
You should get it sometime.

12:09 AM
Yeah, I checked couple of days ago. numbers aren't bad but ratio doesn't look promising for me

You should get it easy enough.
Just start favoriting questions to vote on answers later.

I got 250 questions

This should go to codereview.stackexchange.com — SJuan76 1 min ago

5 votes left, and several still in my favorites.
Time for supper, see you later.

so 250*3 and I should have around 750 upvotes total or goes the other way around

12:12 AM
Oh, BTW, I probably will not be on later tonight.

Okay man. have a good ball
will so you tomorrow sometime

See you.
Probably. Another person got sick, in my bedroom this time.
Have to stay out as much as possible either until I'm sick or he is better.

Q: natural sorting/comparing algorithm in typescript

WerlangThis code sorts string that may contain numbers in natural order, that's it, "item 2" comes before than "item 10". It currently ignores case. I plan to implement options to handle case sensitity and descending order. For me it's fast enough, faster than other implementations I've seen using rege...

Good night Simon!
@nhgrif Would I regret this?
Kind of older MacBook
2007-ish

@Phrancis hang on a sec, going to try to dig up an article for you
wish i'd read that before i upgraded. upgrade took all night, from memory, then failed

Ahh thanks a bunch, I was about to upgrade but have an urgent music project to do, this could have been a major hurdle

@Phrancis np :)

@mjolka do you use the integrated VS version control by any chance?

@Mehrad i've got VS Tools for Git installed, but do everything on the command line

A lot of them are MySQL Workbench, I should just delete that shit lol.

I have done a project in the past with thier tsf server and now any time I opne the solution it changes to Microsoft git for some reason so can't commit

@Duga False positive

@Simon - consideration for Duga, only consider comments on questions, not answers.

Good call ^ Would probably help with the Programmers false positives a good bit.

1:30 AM
On The Whiteboard, the short time I was there it was like every other ping was a false positive... Perhaps adjusting it so it looks only for Programmers.SE and Programmers.StackExchange would be better for them?

1:41 AM
@rolfl Saw your answer on the Java question.
Good points. Will vote tomorrow.

Already out of votes??

@SimonAndréForsberg Maybe only check for comments not pointed at a specific question too.
Almost, with a backlog in favorites.
Typing on my phone. Kind of tricky.
I have 5 left, I think.
So, what's up here?
Anyone here a tree specialist?
I decided that what I should probably do for my app is create a tree of all the menus.
Then, fill ItemsList from the tree.
The tree will never be modified.
What do you think?

@Hosch250 I think never is an awful strong word in our world. =;)-
Seriously though, I've not been following close enough to say.

1:57 AM
I mean, it won't be modified programmatically.

It will be set by me, and the app will just read it to populate ItemsList, which I'd what is displayed.
Does C# have a tree type?
Or would I have to create one?
Be back in a sec.
Just got orders.

A: Tree data structure in C#

The more specific a solution, the less likely it is applicable to any given problem. I even get annoyed w...

Thanks, @Mehrad.

lol what's going on @Mehrad?

@Phrancis how do I get ahold of him?
I already thought of him.
@Mehrad what's up?

I spent whole day yesterday and most of today tring to make this TFS work
I am just furious

@Mehrad you can't get VS back to using TFS?

Git takes over @mjolka
not sure if you used tfs but there are two options
to go with Microsoft server ot Microsoft Git
I did one with the 1st and the git all the way later
now can't get the 1st one to work with TFS's own server
Just did anything immaginable

4:24 AM
Try repairing your installation.

@Mehrad how did you change from TFS to git in the first place?

When you create a new project it askes which one you wanna go for
now even when I select the Micrososft server and try to create a new project VS crashes

Try repairing your installation of VS in the CP.

this is the IDE which all the C# developers should create standard applications and the IDE itself just sh@ts itself...
the other day I couldn't make the bloody interop.access.dll to show up and the rest of the week on a simple step like this. man hours going to waste
@Hosch250 I have installed this VS probably not more than a week ago.

4:28 AM
Oh.

the community edition remember. that was a story of it's own

Well, I don't know what to say.

I know man... thanks for asking though
I am just frustrated that's all

@Mehrad is it giving you an error message?

trying to create a new projects VS goes unresponsive

4:31 AM
ouch :/

@BhojendraNepal true, but this would be a better migration candidate if it wasn't trimmed down to a specific "issue" as is good practice on Stack Overflow. On CR the spirit of answering is that you can comment on any aspect of the code. Also, if your code is about best practices in general (that is, it's okay to ask "Does this code follow common best practices?", but not "What is the best practice regarding X?"), then your question is off-topic for this site... I wouldn't migrate as is. — Mat's Mug 1 min ago

Q: Rubberduck VBA Parser, Episode VI: Return of the Abstraction

Mat's MugVBA comment syntax is fun... and VBA line continuation makes it even more fun. Picture a VBA module like this: Rem this is an old-style comment. ' this is a more standard comment Rem this _ is _ a _ multiline _ comment Private Sub Foo() ' this _ is _ ...

the last snippet
specifically:
    if (continuing || line.HasComment(out index))
    {
        if(!continuing){
            startLine = i;
            startColumn = index;
        }
        var commentLength = line.Length - index;

        continuing = line.EndsWith("_");
        commentBuilder.Append(line.Substring(index, commentLength).TrimStart());
        if (!continuing)
        {
            var selection = new Selection(startLine + 1, startColumn + 1, i + 1, line.Length);

            var result = new CommentNode(commentBuilder.ToString(), new QualifiedSelection(qualifiedName, selection));
there's a if ( a || b) { if(!a) structure
that reeks of 2 bits for 3 states
...
if VBA works like this:
crap, I knew what I Wanted to say but it's gone again
if continuing then NEVER line.hasComment

if (!continuing && line has comment) {
startLine = i;
startColumn = index;
}
if (continuing || line has comment) {
// the rest...
}
^^ not sure that's much of an improvement

I mean
/*
* //
*/

Why is there three times an if-statement involving continuing, that just feels brong!

11:50 AM
you don't care that the line has a comment if it's already a comment, right?

@Pimgd that's true
I don't know how @RubberDuck works though
@skiwi s/brong/wwrong/

@Pimgd A comment-comment?
@SimonAndréForsberg /s/wwrong/wwwwrong/

@skiwi continuing changes value though

even that axiom doesn't help

@SimonAndréForsberg Hmm, then I feel it should be a place for a new variable

11:57 AM
@skiwi tell that to Mug

here's the weird case
if continuing, go to the next line and check if continuing
that doesn't make sense

lol at this

Gotcha
BOOM
it's not if(continuing) append; else yield return
it's while(continuing) append, new line, continuing check; yield return
or something along those lines
    for (var i = 0; i < code.Length; i++)
    {
        var line = code[i];
        var index = 0;

        if (line.HasComment(out index))
        {

            var commentLength = line.Length - index;

                var commentLength = line.Length - index;
                commentBuilder.Append(line.Substring(index, commentLength).TrimStart());
                line = code[i];
crazy code goooo
hmmh.
syntax errors.
I need a do-for loop.
    for (var i = 0; i < code.Length; i++)
    {
        var line = code[i];
        var index = 0;

        if (line.HasComment(out index))
        {
            startLine = i;
            startColumn = index;

            var commentLength = line.Length - index;
            for (; i < code.Length && line.EndsWith("_"); i++)
            {
                commentBuilder.Append(line.Substring(index, commentLength).TrimStart());
                line = code[i];
                commentLength = line.Length - index;
there, it works.
or it's supposed to, anyway.
it's still duplicated
somehow... =/
where did index go
oh yeah it's an out param nevermind
I don't like the duplicated comment length and comment builders
any way to merge them...?
well yeah there is!
Ahahahaha
cough

12:12 PM
@Pimgd take a look at the example VBA code in @Mat'sMug question. Comments can be multi-lines if they end with an underscore. I'm not real familiar with this code, but continuing has to be checking for that line continuation (underscore)
@SimonAndréForsberg the code or the duck? Because the duck barely does. =;)-

@RubberDuck the code I guess :)

        for (var i = 0; i < code.Length; i++)
        {
            var line = code[i];
            var index = 0;

            if (line.HasComment(out index))
            {
                startLine = i;
                startColumn = index;

                for (; i < code.Length; i++)
                {
                    line = code[i];
                    var commentLength = line.Length - index;
                    commentBuilder.Append(line.Substring(index, commentLength).TrimStart());
                    if(!line.EndsWith("_"){
ahahaha
victory
yep
now, is it nicer to read?
hmmh.
Well, can it go in a separate function?

is the logic the same?

no
or is it

will it have the same effect as before?

12:17 PM
ah sorry yes the logic is the same
was worried about line.hasComment(out index) but if(continuing || line.hasComment(out index)) short circuits
erm
@SimonAndréForsberg It introduces a crash.
3
How bad is that?
If the last line ends with a comment, previously the whole comment would never be written
the new code goes out of bounds instead
var selection = new Selection(startLine + 1, startColumn + 1, i + 1, line.Length);
i+1 here will be code.Length+1
and thus it might cause trouble later
So I guess it doesn't crashes
but you now know comment continues past EOF?
This sounds like an awesome new feature
@Mat'sMug let me know if the proposed change is acceptable =D

This script could be rewritten in a much better way: do not use uppercase variable names; don't use cat: it seems you're only reading the first line of the file, so read -r temp < /home/pi/temperaturloggar/rum1.txt would be much more efficient; save the value of bc <<< "$TEMP < $VALUE" to make your script more readable; if you're using bash≥4.2, you can use printf with the %T(...) format to avoid using the external date. But all this now belongs to code review. — gniourf_gniourf 22 secs ago
