Anyone knows if this guy has appeared on other internet sites today, or is @StackExchange the only target?

@SimonAndréForsberg Tineye returns 4 billion matches for that image.

what person and answer are we talking about here?

@ChrisW My reasoning is that the length of the answer doesn't matter; it's the ability to communicate what improvements should be made and why that matter. Otherwise, in the worst case, we just end up with a gallery of "here's how I would have written it" answers with no insight.

Q: Efficient FizzBuzz

PuccaI wrote the following Fizz Buzz program. How can I improve it or make it more efficient? public class FizzBuzz { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("--------Fizz Buzz program-------------"); for(int num=1;num<=100;num++) { if(num%3==0) ...

^^^ example.

@ChrisW Tineye?

@200_success Best case, maybe reading a better version of the code is enough for the OP to gain their own insight?

6:03 PM
I could be convinced otherwise with a sufficiently good counterexample. In any case, I encourage you to start a Meta post on the topic of code-only answers and/or short answers, as it's worth discussing.

@ChrisW Umm... to me it says that it searched 4 billion images, but "only" found 126 results.

@200_success that could be useful, even with an actual RSS answers feed (@TimPost wink-wink)

@lol.upvote Interesting: OP posted a link to that question on Reddit, manages to summon someone who hasn't visited CR for a year.

Is there any other CSS nerd here wanting to answer my questions?

@AnnaLear Stay for a while, since you're here anyway! Don't leave us with the monkey!

He's an ape. Please.

@rolfl Oh, "Rolf Monkey Lear" then?
I gotta ask on English Language & Usage what the difference is between a monkey and an ape... Or should that go under Animals.StackExchange ?

Apes are Old World anthropoid mammals, more specifically a clade of tailless catarrhine primates, belonging to the biological superfamily Hominoidea. The apes are native to Africa and South-east Asia. Apes are the largest primates and the orangutan, an ape, is the largest living arboreal animal. Hominoids (except for humans) are traditionally forest dwellers, although chimpanzees may range into savanna, and the extinct australopithecines were likely also savanna inhabitants, inferred from their morphology. Humans inhabit almost every terrestrial habitat. Hominoidea contains two familie...

Technically, the picture is of a Chacma Baboon
The chacma baboon (Papio ursinus), also known as the Cape baboon, is, like all other baboons, from the Old World monkey family. It is one of the largest of all monkeys. Located primarily in southern Africa, the chacma baboon has a wide variety of social behaviors, including a dominance hierarchy, collective foraging, adoption of young by females, and friendship pairings. These behaviors form parts of a complex evolutionary ecology. In general the species is not threatened, but human population pressure has increased contact between humans and baboons. Hunting, accidents and trapping k...

@syb0rg I think about using Jekyll for the CR Community, so all you guys need to know to write a post/article/whatever is markdown.

@kleinfreund On meta?

Huh?

Nvm, it should closely resemble the markdown here if possible.

I mean the Community site. If we use Jekyll to build the side, all you need to do is dropping a .md file in a _posts folder and it'll be converted to the site by Jekyll.

@kleinfreund Jekyll might be a good idea. I mean, we all know Markdown from here and such. I didn't start the CR site with it only because I was trying to commit something as fast as possible, as syborg was waiting for a git tutorial. But since you already know it … show us the way!

That's what I thought. What would be better for a site where everyone knows how to do some stuff in Markdown than.. well, actually writing Markdown to publish. ;)

@kleinfreund the remarkable thing about the enigma handling by the allies is that they did not act on things just to assure the Germans their communication was secure.... they sacrificed pawns, as such, so that they could take bigger pieces out of play.

Q: DRY - jquery reducing conditionals if a selector exists

Delmon YoungI've got a conditional that sets a cookie based on if a selector exists. There are other places in the code where I do something similar if the selector exists. If the selector exists I either add "nfl" or "nfl-" (notice the dash) to various attributes on the page. I'm trying to remove as much co...

@ChrisW You are right, I can see it.
@rolfl Nvm, I didn't look deep enough.

@syb0rg might be time to upgrade the software....

@Malachi Agreed. The other day I couldn't find a person on Facebook for the same exact reason...

@syb0rg lol

@Malachi But actually. The name was a match, but I didn't recognize the profile picture so I glossed over it. Once someone pointed out to me to go into their profile and look into more of their pictures, I saw that it was the person I was looking for.

Face recon 2.0 not available on @syb0rgs?

@lol.upvote It's a work in progress.

Could this get a better title?

Q: Improve my jQuery file

user3077706I'm working with Codeigniter and I have a jQuery file to add some functionalities. But I think I'm doing it in a wrong way. $(function() { var list = '../indoamericana/intranet/employeesList/'; var home = '../indoamericana/administrar/callHome/'; var profile = '../indoamericana/user/...

Improve my question-titling abilities?

1 hour until reload.

More like, people need to read where it says to give a distinctive title.
@syb0rg: I'll give you that answer of mine from yesterday after the reload. I'm almost out of votes myself.

@Jamal Sounds good. I have a lot of things to upvote in my queue.

I might need to get a special folder just for these posts. :-)
10 more profile views until 1000!

Looks like @amon has a fan:
Amon, Thanks for reviwing the code and your valuable suggestion and feedback, I will make change as you suggested, it's really helpful for me, please keep doing good work — anil 27 mins ago

Perhaps the answer will be accepted, then.
And voted on.

@syb0rg That's not being a “fan”, that's being overly polite. Although I certainly wouldn't mind an upvoting stalker.

@amon The stalker being me?
I'm out of votes :P

He is new to SE, so you may educate him on voting and accepting. He now has over 15 rep.

@syb0rg I'm OK with that ;-)
Actually, there's room for another answer on that question. To be reviewed: wonky formatting, abstraction through static methods, unused variables, switch abuse, lack of comments …

@amon And the terrible class name.
App
Explains a lot.

That's a good class name, I'd think – it makes me expect a main. Better than "Assignment23", which I've been guilty of

@amon Really? It's very abstract.

Q: first singly linked list implementation

Catz n DogzI am new to studying data structures although I have been programming in java/android since October. I feel its time to advance so I am starting data structures / algorithms this month. Since linked list are a big topic in interviews and I knew nothing about them I spent the past 3 days learning ...

@syb0rg Hmm, I may have been spoiled by Scala where inheriting from App turns your object's constructor into the main, or something wonky like that.

Q: Android app accepted answer bug

syb0rgI'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but it doesn't look like the Android app is displaying accepted answers correctly. The first red circle looks like it would have an accepted answer, but it doesn't (at the time of posting this). The other circles are displaying correctly; the questions ...
