You know what's a bit strange? The "S" in Vedran's name comes through and is visible underneath its "ed".

@kleinfreund I think it has to do with the little "hat" the "S" is wearing

Thought about leaving my Laptop at my sisters room. Then I would pin my tabs in Google Chrome and drop a link to it in the Autostarts folder.

Q: What should our logo and site design look like?

michelemarconWhat should our logo and site design look like?

@kleinfreund feel free to chip in!

Maybe we could work on something there, right.
The magnifier is a good starting point
First: We need something that works on the smallest place. 16x16 pixel. Check out the other major SE sites. The logo for SO is great.
I'm pissed. There is someone in our chat with the name "Adolf Hitler". -.-
@lol.upvote How about this concept?
Just a quick sketch.

1:47 PM
@Jamal !!!!!!!!!!! Get rid of that username for us please!?
2

Jamal can do that ?

Such a username can't be acceptible! Especially not with that profile picture

Atleast in this chat room, right?

@konijn If anyone can, it's @Jamal

Totally agree. :/

1:48 PM
It ought not to be acceptable anywhere
user got created today

Seems like someone at StackExchange is already working on it. The user network profile has different name and picture now
Can someone on @StackExchange please kick @AdolfHitler from all chat rooms? His username is totally unacceptable.
^^ Flagged my own message for a moderator.

Why is "Adolf Hitler" an unacceptable name?
Poor taste, perhaps.
But I can't be kicking people for poor taste.

@RegDwigнt It's offensive. Especially his profile picture. His network profile picture is already modified, his chat profile should be too.
@RegDwigнt Ever heard of a thing called Nazism and the second world war?

No. Never.
His pic would get him offline in Germany, but the servers are in the US.

Doesn't matter.
It's just as offensive to jews, and others, in the US.
Expect a MSO post about this later when I get home.

@RegDwigнt And you still see "no reason" to kick him?

Hey, meeting - sorry. @kleinfreund that's very nice! You have talent!

@kleinfreund This looks amazing!

@lol.upvote Can you kick people from this room?

2:02 PM
@syb0rg lol.upvote pointed out we are probably not allowed to use the CR logo for the Community site.

@sim yup
problem?

@SimonAndréForsberg can you please spell out that reason?

@RegDwigнt : Because the user community of this chat forum finds that user offensive

He does nothing. He's not even posting. I wouldn't have noticed his gravatar, that's how faded out it is.

he's gone

2:03 PM
Hello @RegDwigнt

Using a picture of Adolf Hitler along with his name plus the picture being infront of a Hakenkreuz doesn't need an explanation for me.

Hoozah @syb0rg

I haven't seen you on here before.
@MikePennington Hello!

Hello everyone. ;)

Hey plenty of new faces here! Welcome to our lovely chatroom!

2:04 PM
There are a lot of people! I like this!

@syb0rg good morning syborg

Aww, he gone.

well that was some hi-bye!

I was going to ask where he lived, since it has to be somewhat close to me.

@lol.upvote Thanks. I was about to say "Either he goes, or I go".

2:06 PM
He trolled you all read hard without even doing anything. Impressive.
The terrists have won.

This is trolling in your opinion?

It is trolling in yours.

For me, there is a difference between trolling and being offensive like him.

Trolling is trying to derail the conversation and upset people. Normally, some form of participation is required for that. It's an activity, not a passivity.

There is an art to trolling, AH was not artful

2:07 PM
wait, after checking my options, I'm not sure I can kick someone out of the room.

That's because you can't.
You can ignore, though.
Everyone can.
Then you won't even see their gravatar in the list.

@RegDwigнt as the room owner I thought I had this "power" ;P

@SimonAndréForsberg Cheers for that. If you see him come back, flag more stuff.

@lol.upvote might make sense. Might need to kick balpha about that.
I think right now "owner" is just a label.
Like those meaningless stars Wikipedians post on each other's pages.

well I can change the room's name and what RSS feeds the @StackExchange bot is posting, and how they're being posted too

2:09 PM
"I award this editor the Star of Excellence for editing the article on Adenosinetriphosphate". Stuff like that.

schedule events, control access - hey wait...

@lol.upvote That's not what you think it is.

right
just saw

Control access is a whitelist.
Or several, actually.
Of course what you can do is just lock the room to the public and then grant access individually to every single user who's in here.

well that's cool though, I can grant write-access to a user that doesn't have enough rep to participate in chat through that menu!

2:11 PM
That'd keep the rest out.

But I don't want to do that!

Of course not.
Even if you did, who has the time.

AH has no profile on CR anyway. @sim

@RegDwigнt Did you honestly mean that you didn't want to kick him because of his name and profile picture, or were you just trolling me?

I wonder if @Jamal can kick users out

2:14 PM
@lol.upvote He's a mod, I would be surprised if he couldn't.

@lol.upvote I know, but his precence in the chatroom was enough for me.

If he can't, that could be a Meta.SE request.

I think I'll ask for room owners to get that "privilege" too
wait, is meta.SE up? or it's still MSO?

@lol.upvote Still MSO.

@sim +190 yesterday. dang.

2:17 PM
There should be a special badge for getting 190 on 100 days.
@SimonAndréForsberg I cannot kick anyone just because of his name and profile picture.

Badges are meaningless.

Dare you!

I can try and edit them, though. Which I did, and failed.
Looks like it's a dev-only feature.

@RegDwigнt well a mod can change a user's name and/or picture for being offensive. So I guess @SimonAndréForsberg has a point.

55 secs ago, by RegDwigнt
I can try and edit them, though. Which I did, and failed.

2:19 PM
@RegDwigнt I would dare say that no one would challenge you on kicking out a user because of his name and/or profile picture, nevertheless, I appreciate your sticking to the rule

There is no option to edit the name or the gravatar.
There is on the main site.
But here in chat, I wasn't able to do anything about either.

@SivaRajini you realize you've just invalidated both answers with that edit? I suggest you rollback that edit, rework your code per our answers, and post another CR question with your updated code. More work, but more votes for everyone :) — lol.upvote 20 secs ago

Not sure why, and not sure why such trolling is not happening more often, then.

^^ ugh. chameleon questions...

Arguably because of the 20-rep requirement.
@konijn as I said, in Germany I'd plain have the law on my side, no questions asked. So put a server there and hey presto.

2:22 PM
@RegDwigнt Were you able to kick him at all? Did he have to post something for you to be able to kick him?

@SimonAndréForsberg I can suspend for X hours.
But after that he can come back.
Kicking is even less useful.
Kicking is just kicking, and the user can come back immediately.
Which is pretty much what happens every time.
Except then they are pissed off and that's where the real shit hits the fan.
As they say, don't wake up sleeping dogs.

Got my first answer from someone who is actually not me! Yay!

Now, I'm not sure what happens if the parent account has been deleted, whether the chat user can still re-log in. But they are theoretically separate accounts, and since he still was in this room with his main account deleted, I suppose he'd be able to re-enter, too.

2:28 PM
@syb0rg I think it was an answer. The Fibonacci one. When using floating-point expression to get something that's supposed to be integer (and it is, in theory), it is better to round than to cast.

@VedranŠego I'm having trouble finding the cast in my final code (even though I wrote it :P).

@syb0rg return makes the implicit cast.

@VedranŠego Ahh, so the iterative final code then.

@RegDwigнt just FYI, I do appreciate you stepping in and doing whatever you could....

The fib function

2:32 PM
@syb0rg It's not really iterative, when it has no iterations. But yes, you called it that.

Seems I missed the fun, mostly, but that's the way it's supposed to be.

@syb0rg The long long unsigned int fibonacci(long long unsigned int n) function.

@rolfl well it wasn't me ultimately. Someone kicked him while I was still trying to change his gravatar. Can't be taking credit, sorry!

@VedranŠego So would I do something like (int)(x + 0.5) so that it rounds properly, or will that not work as well?

I think that should work. What's wrong with using round()?

2:34 PM
That's another thing I can't look up, who the kicker was. For all I know he might as well just have left voluntarily.

@RegDwigнt still, you have now stumbled on yet another friendly chat room.... and it appears we like to keep it that way... ;-)

that's what I thought happened..

@VedranŠego I guess I could do that as well.

@rolfl yeah this room is new to me.
I'm not even sure I got many hats on this site during the last WB.
I think I skipped it.

Edit in the works.

2:35 PM
@RegDwigнt you're welcome here anytime you like!

Thank you, thank you.

@syb0rg I have to go now. Please leave a comment if you have more questions regarding this.

hey Reg, we had thee users from CR get in the top 30 for the last winterbash

Oh yeah. Just one hat. The Old Hat. Is all I got.

2:36 PM
@VedranŠego Sounds good. Will I get your up-vote after I fix it? :P

We are a disproportianately active site.

@kleinfreund you've earned my last star for the day

Probably because you were too much of a danger to ELU at first, and when you no longer weren't, it was too late for me to try and catch up personally.

@kleinfreund Your work is really nice.

@kleinfreund Looks awesome, but the lack of a vertical element makes the "R" hard to recognize. Maybe using different colour backgrounds for each letter could work? Though that'd ruin the minimalist look…

2:36 PM
@syb0rg Just got it. I hope you're happy. :-P (just kidding; you earned it)

I'd have needed 12 hats for the top 10.

@kleinfreund the margins are off though, I think the angle should be closer to 45, that would give it a more "metro" feel - and then move "Community" down a bit, centered. Or am I too picky?

I usually didn't bother with sites where the figure was above 10.

@amon Thought the same thing. The minimalism is a really good thing to have.

2:37 PM
see ... couldn't resist.

Hey I was #1 too! (I like @RegDwigнt's image more)

Ys, it's cool to see CR as the top beta site..... and yes, lol, you were #1 too, or was that retailcoder?

As you see, I'm in the top 5 for 44 sites or so, and for the network overall, but not on Code Review!
Next time. Next time!

@RegDwigнt yeah you missed out, December was pretty intense over here!

2:39 PM
I don't think I missed out, exactly.

Getting 600+ hats on 100+ sites was intense alright.

I see you leading the English Language board there.... ;-)
