I have also notified @quid, though quid may not be available for a while. But see the last few paragraphs of this communication from the MSE user about Zach.

@amWhy I'm familiar with what happened, yeah.
The mods are, collectively, not happy about this and have been discussing it. That is a good link.

@AlexanderGruber Thanks. Glad to help the link helps.

@amWhy you heard from zach since then?

@AlexanderGruber No, but I'm thinking of contacting him soon. I feel awful for him. At that state of the game, PhD candidacy, to have faced MH's far reaching retribution, that's a low blow!!

@amWhy yeah. Let me know if you do.
My suspicion is that the dept head would not act without any substantive claims, so hopefully there is no concrete damage. But I would not mind knowing that for sure.

@AlexanderGruber I would hope that's the case. But what the user did do ought to be actionable. That's abusive.
(I meant what the MSE user, contacting the department head of another MSE user's department is to make such inuendos is abusive/harassment.

What a horrible thing. @amWhy Thanks for letting us know. I agree that this should have severe consequences.

8:18 PM
@AlexanderGruber I've emailed him again, given the comments from MH. But I risked opening wounds he's trying to heal. I hope he replies. I asked him if there was anything I could do to facilitate any dialogue between and a mod or two. I'll have to wait though.

Unfortunately, with this site, unless there is a smoking gun, with finger prints left on it, DNA of victim on the perp, unless there are eye-witnesses, a confession from the suspect, ... even then, the murderer or arsonist or vandal, or liar, or burglar or abuser won't face any consequences. So I know longer think that "polite requests for me to learn more", and when I say what I've already said, and try to learn more, "but that's too unclear", despite confessions, ....
... and the email I just received back from Zach, I'll be told "but there's just no evidence to know exactly what happened.

@amWhy the problem is not the lack of evidence but that it is not on the site;

@quid How conveeeenient!

and no one concerned actual reported a problem
No it is not convenient. But I think that you are a bit unjust towards those trying to manage the situation.

There is evidence, loud and clear, which fell out quite cleanly, from the mouth of a chronic intimidator and harasser on this, admitting to going beyond this site to try to intimidate a user, so much as to contact that users academic director with accusations about that user.

@quid What is "conveeeenient" (See SNL "The Church Lady": handy excuses for not doing one's job, and for not doing what is the right thing to do) is how you're trying to avoid even having to handle the situation.
