@Peter what's the progress on $809^{809}+2$? (What's the size of smallest factor so far at least?)
(So, the $809^{809}+2$ is surely composite? As well as all numbers given by $p$ up to $7500$, so far?)

@Vepir To prove a number composite is much easier than to prove it prime. $809^{809}+2$ is definitely composite, the smallest factor should have more than $15$ digits.

factordb approves that upto $p=10^4$ , $p^p+2$ is composite for prime $p>3$
If my limit upto $28\ 000$ is correctly checked, the probability is at most roughly $5$% for a prime of the desired form.
