Since "The Dojo" was closed due to inactivity, I figured I'd open another general room for people to use. ^_^ Since I'm doing Capoeira right now, I figured I'd name it after that. I figure it's fair since the prior one was using Japanese terms. Now, we're using Brazilian Portuguese.

I may wind up in a local commercial. A fellow is teaching Capoeira classes here in Pittsburgh on Mondays and had some crew out to film a roda (sparring circle) this last Sunday. We were required to show up in our whites (white shirt and pants), with several of the more senior people showing up in more traditional clothing. Unfortunately, between wearing nice clothing and the wet grass of the park, that prevented them from playing the game.

Thus, most of the filming involved three amateurs and the guy who runs the classes. He was clearly the superior to us, but since part of the philosophy of Capoeira is enabling the other person to be at their best so that you can demonstrate that you're just a bit better, it all worked out.

Supposedly, they were going to pull in a few more senior people later in the filming, after they changed out from the opening scenes where they were playing the music, but we got a torrential downpour which kind of scotched that.

As for my own exploits, I'm doing my best to get back to doing regular Tuesday classes, and practicing my ginga in between, to build up my endurance if nothing else.
