@B.Frederik, just FYI, you can alert another user to your post by "addressing" it with @username like I did here. Otherwise nobody will be aware of your posting unless they stumble across it.

I also had problems within the worksheet you posted. B10 simply refused to properly accept any version of the formula. There is nothing technically wrong with the formula you're using. I got it to work in row 11 and was able to copy and paste that into row 10 to get row 10 to work.

But that was in the online copy, opened in LO Calc, with macros disabled. It's possible that your worksheet is corrupted. As a test, open a new worksheet. Copy and paste just the formula to the same cell in the new one. It should be treated as a formula and produce a blank cell since all of the referenced cells are empty there.

Then start copy and pasting the referenced cells and the formula should build the output based on as much as is present in the new worksheet. If that works, it means the original is corrupted (it happens).

Could you possibly try and send the one you modified that work? It’s really strange. Almost feels like getting pranked.

This is just strange. What happens if you use just the cell reference instead of the text function?

You need to right click on the file. And then click "Manage link" and then Link with key and then link that

It says links are only for registered users. If we can't get this figured out, maybe I'll register. :-) Something else to try. In D6, type = then click on the function wizard. Look for the text function and use the wizard to create what you tried in C6.

Next to the formula edit box, there are three icons, X, checkmark, and fx. If you start a formula with =, then click the fx, it opens a function wizard. You select the function you want and it opens a little entry window for each parameter. There is also guidance and help available. If we have Excel build the function, we should see what's wrong.

Can you get the original formula to work that way? Was there anything obviously different in what the wizard produced? BTW, if you have a long formula, you can edit it, postition the cursor in the function name and click the fx to open the function wizard.

The way to indicate that the problem is solved is to click the checkmark next to the answer to "accept" it.

Yes I got the original formula working now with using the wizard :D. I can't see anything different at all, it says the exact same as if I would have written it manually. I guess the wizard is just wiser somehow.
