Q: Are quantum computers just a variant on Analog computers of the 50's & 60's that many have never seen nor used?

Philip OakleyIn the recent Question "Is Quantum Computing just Pie in the Sky" there are many responses regarding the improvements in quantum capabilities, however all are focussed on the current 'digital' computing view of the world. Analog computers of old could simulate and compute many complex problems t...

@user1271772 Words in bolds and italics indicate emphasis on them. I have been using that kind of text formatting for years now. Could you please let me know exactly why that makes you uncomfortable ? It would serve as a constructive feedback so that I can consider changing my text formatting in the future. Also, could you let me know exactly what wasn't "nice" about my comment? Thank you.

Q: What methods exist for cooling superconducting quantum computers?

user96037Existing super conducting quantum computers need to be cooled near absolute zero. For example, some of D-Wave's machines are cooled to about 20 mK. Their design uses a dilution refrigerator. Is there any other cooling methods besides a dilution refrigerator that are capable of achieving such l...
