Hi! It's said that when determining the number of significant figures in addition and subtraction of numbers, the answer is rounded to the least number of decimal places in the original numbers added.
But how to determine the significant figures in something like 380000+4.25?

@BuddhiniAngelika in general you use the same amount of sig. digits as the number with the lowest amount. In your example you have 2 sig. digits in 380000 and 3 in 4.25 so your answer will be 380000

I wonder what's the oldest reference on the dimensionality of space
Who was the first person to articulate that space has three dimensions
As far as I know the synthetic geometry equivalent of 3 dimensions is saying that there exists 4 points that are not coplanar
I guess it's sort of implicit in Euclid's definitions :
"A solid is that which has length, breadth, and thickness."
