@SirCumference want to show

@kylecampbell thanks

@StanShunpike possibly not going to work for what you need, but 3blue1brown puts his python code on the web. look that up and see if his stuff with vectors is what you need - his animation in his videos did have 3d stuff, so there's a chance his code might be easily adaptable to what you're looking for.

@StanShunpike again unity does close to what youre asking for. also @Nick was recently talking about blender which has similar capabilities, wonder if he has experience. have been really wishing for yrs we could have more dialog on simulations around here, long have some big ideas, maybe too big to ask for help from others :) unity.com blender.org

@heather Try Godot, it had better integration with Blender
Where UE4 is also worth if your PC had world class features and a Quantum Graphics Card, otherwise it lags
Remember Games don't make people Violent, lags does.
XD

5:29 AM
+1 for heather's idea

6:17 AM
Various things to be shared about if time:
1. Idea on a time fluid paradigm and comparison between tensor models and fluid based models
2. Various things in question theory, inspired by Emilio's meta post

@skullpatrol Oh hey you've returned
Or maybe you've been using an alt all this time, not sure

How are these electroencephalography (EEG) headsets so expensive? I mean, it's just a few electrodes and their signal amplified. Why do they cost 750$ and above?

@NovaliumCompany I would guess they aren't a big seller so the money invested to design the headsets needs to be recovered by charging a lot for each headset.

@JohnRennie Of course. Thanks.
Why don't we make them a big seller :D?
Headset that dramatically improves your CS:GO stats xDDD

Figure out how to make them stimulate the pleasure centres of the brain :-)
(actually that would probably just get them banned)

I've thought of that too! :D
Humans will be constantly pushing the pleasure button lol. Imagine their lives being spent that way.

9:01 AM
Now I imagine @JohnRennie to be the Architect in The Matrix.

If someone uses scripture to answer a question do we flag it as "Not an answer"? Here's a recent example from Astronomy, but I figure the policy there regarding this would be the same as on Physics. astronomy.stackexchange.com/a/31907/16685
@NovaliumCompany Like wireheads in Larry Niven's Known Space stories.

There's now a question on SF&F about that Chernobyl miniseries scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/212656/… Maybe that's appropriate. ;)

the weather becomes so hot again.
when I recall position seeking, my head is as big as ten thousand heads.

11:27 AM
@CaptainBohemian I have no idea what that's supposed to mean.

12:02 PM
@PM2Ring isn't seeking a relevant position the first step to do physics?

the first step is to consume some gary gum
aka amphetamines

>Inexpensive EEG devices exist for the low-cost research and consumer markets. Recently, a few companies have miniaturized medical grade EEG technology to create versions accessible to the general public. Some of these companies have built commercial EEG devices retailing for less than US$100.

what would you need an EEG for
Drinking game?
Take a drink everytime you neutralize your delta waves

Supply and demand
physics books are just paper and ink
It doesn't cost anymore to make than a Harry Potter novel

but they require a different type of reading

the most frustrating part of the poincare conjectureis that the only thing I don't understand has nothing to do with Ricci flow

Why does the symmetric Fock space have the product $$\langle \psi, \xi \rangle = \operatorname{Per}(\langle \psi_i, \xi_j \rangle)$$
When, if you used the "usual" inner product for Fock spaces, it should be $$\frac{1}{n!} \operatorname{Per}(\langle \psi_i, \xi_j \rangle)$$
Is it just a convention or does it actually help to fullfill axioms of the Hilbert space

12:47 PM
@SirCumference hi pal

1:12 PM
Have you encountered any skulls lately

a few

Oh wait, maybe it's so that orthonormal states are indeed orthonormal
Lemme think
$H^2$ would be $(\psi_1, \psi_2)$
Inner product is $$\langle (\psi_1, \psi_2), (\xi_1, \xi_2) \rangle = \langle \psi_1, \xi_1 \rangle \langle \psi_2, \xi_2 \rangle + \langle \psi_1, \xi_2 \rangle \langle \psi_2, \xi_1 \rangle$$
Hm wait no, $\langle (e_i, 0), (e_j, 0)\rangle = 0$
Fugg
How do I Fock space
Oh wait, the basis is $(e_i, f_i)$
So... $$\langle (e_i, f_j), (e_k, f_l) \rangle = \delta_{ik} \delta_{jl} + \delta_{il} \delta_{jk}$$
Hm
What's the basis of the symmetric product of two Hilbert space
bc sounds like that convention isn't very good
I mean I guess you could redefine it as $2^{-1/2}(e_i, f_j)$
But I don't rly get why that article would remove the $n!$

@AbhasKumarSinha have you done something with unity or Godot?

4:48 PM
A genious idea struck my mind. Let's replace the loading screen with youtube, so that way gamers can watch youtube while their game is loading.

5:20 PM
@NovaliumCompany what about consoles that don't connect to the internet? Also, what games have sufficiently long loading sequences that can be replaced with YT videos?

5:55 PM
@KyleKanos GTA Online, Rust
Donno, I'm not serious about the idea, but I thought it was interesting.

You could always have a second computer going
Not having played those games, what's the load time for them?

6:30 PM
hmmm

3 hours later…
9:16 PM
@NovaliumCompany Do you have a solid state drive? (loading screens haven't really bugged me since I started using SSDs, but I don't play Rust or GTAV so IDK how slow they load on a SSD)

user280247
if molecules have a net dipole moment like water molecules, they attract each other with opposite dipole-sides

user280247
then many molecules should have a much bigger net dipole?

user280247
what stops it from bigger and bigger values?

10:21 PM
@santimirandarp what you’ve said is true
Dielectrics are largely approximated as a collection of dipoles rhat when summed up form a big dipole

user280247
10:36 PM
Thx again. But what prevents it from going to infinity? @JakeRose
