@ChrisWhite Now that's funny. And it is certainly true that something involved in that is rubbish.

I've haven't yet lead an advanced lab where that might be an issue, but when I do ... well, much of our kit is rubbish too.

@DavidZ I recognize at least one of the "after" drawings. Bonnie Flemming is a ferociously able scientist. And another one might be Cat Stevens, though it is less obvious.

@KyleKanos It was comments. They were general accusations rather than aimed at a particular user, but totally unacceptable.

I don't know why people think that asking people for help and call them names is a productive thing to do.

I'd've deleted the question and destroyed the user (the OP) except that it would have taken some rep from other users.

I was about to type up a comment that calling people cowards for not answering won't get many people wanting to help him, but then he got 2 or 3 answers. Would've seemed out of touch to post that then

You are fine, but deleting just the OP's comments would (1) have left a fractured conversation and (2) made it possible to reconstruct the OP's comment when I was trying to head off bad feelings.

I feel so touchy-feely saying things like that.

Policy is not to call anyone out in public if we can help it, so I didn't say who I was directing my comment towards.

I've got no problems with my comments being deleted. I was just curious to see if OP had replied to my last comment and saw they were all deleted. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get another mod email

He had not replied, and no fear about a mod message. I'm not sure that engaging that user was productive but you were well within the bounds.

I finally got the Steward badge for first post reviews. Now I can feel a deep depression coming on as I ask myself why I spent so many hours slaving away for a virtual gold counter to increase by one. SE must be designed by evil, manipulative psychologists :-)

@BrandonEnright If you say "worthless internet points" instead of "rep" and "worthless internet medals" instead of "badges" it ... well it doesn't actually do much but at least you feel like you are resisting.

The Schrödinger equation is non-relativistic. Photons are fully relativistic. They don't go together. Use the Klein-Gorden equation instead.
