@Kyle Coincidentally, I get pinged when people really mean you.

@Kyle why are you pinging yourself...

@hwlau Well played ;)

@KyleKanos Why don't your icon show the full name?
I was trying to see who am I pinging

I was pinging the other Kyle, not myself
He mentioned above how he gets pinged when people put the space in Kyle Kanos

Then why am I pinging you

2:14 AM
IDK
It's how the SE engine works

a bug

Probably

3:00 AM
And @KyleKanos beats me by like 15 seconds on another post... Moon pool... getting all fancy on me.

Haha, sorry for using technical terms

No, I just had an example from two centuries ago. You had this century's example
And 15 seconds too late
For those interested, my memory problem in my code was actually MPI's fault and not mine
MPI_Isend was not releasing it's damn internal buffers.

Stupid MPI

Tell me about it
And C++. I'm sticking to Fortran from now on

Sealab 2021 is an American animated television series. It was shown on Cartoon Network's adult-oriented programming block, Adult Swim. Cartoon Network aired the show's pilot season in December 2000 before the official inception of the Adult Swim channel on September 2, 2001, with the final episode airing on April 25, 2005. Sealab 2021 is one of the four original Williams Street series that premiered in 2000 before Adult Swim officially launched, the others being Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Brak Show, and Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. Much like Adult Swim's Space Ghost Coast to Coast, the animation...
Where is this Sealab 2020 coming from?

there are enough of us - we can form our own MPI support group

Palmetto cluster sucks. I can only have 1 concurrent job with 128+ processors

@KyleKanos It's what 2021 was a spoof of:
Sealab 2020 is an American animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera. The show premiered on NBC on September 9, 1972. The series aired its 13th and final episode on December 2, 1972, with three episodes unaired. As with most Hanna-Barbera series, the show is in occasional rotation on Boomerang, the TV channel that owns the Hanna-Barbera archives. == Plot == The series took place at Sealab, an underwater research base based on the Challenger Seamount (an underwater mountain), in the year 2020 (48 years in the future at the time of broadcast). Commanded by Captain Murphy, Sealab was home...
2020 was like an underwater Captain Planet. Boring, all eco-messages, etc
2021 used the original characters and animations and made them hilarious
@ChrisWhite I'm not sure about a support group, maybe an MPI survivor group.

1 hour later…
4:27 AM
@tpg2114 Oh, you gone through you whole code to figure it out
@ChrisWhite I know nothing of MPI, maybe I can be the first student of the group
@KyleKanos It is so wasteful, at least you should use simple openmp

4:55 AM
@ChrisWhite I'll join the MPI support/survivor group... the only thing worse than debugging MPI is debugging 2 MPIs (wait, it's crashing because I somehow linked lam and openmpi in the same program?)

5:34 AM
@hwlau I went through the whole code like 10 times... Used every tool I could find. Turned up nothing. Then in a divine moment of inspiration to my already superior brilliance (aka, I guessed and got lucky) I changed my Isend to Send and problem was solved.
@Kyle Compiling ParaView may trump debugging MPI in terms of horribleness. Although now my code hangs while writing restart files under specific conditions, which includes running for very long periods of time, making it impossible to debug. Go figure...

7 hours later…
1:00 PM
@hwlau You misunderstood me. I can run a job on 128+ processors (fully parallelized with MPI), but I can only have one simulation running at a time. I can't run the 4 different test cases I want to do at once, they must be run sequentially.
@tpg2114 I was being sarcastic. I know it's a spoof of 2020 (it even has the roll-down animation of 2020 -> 2021 in the opening credits).

1:29 PM
@tpg2114 ParaView sucks because there is, for whatever idiotic reason they came up with, no support Chombo-based AMR.
Least not on the 3.8.1 version I have installed on my computer
