@ManishEarth: Hmm... I can't use CW for meta questions..

CW doesn't work for questions, not for you

I suspected... :/
@ManishEarth: BTW, nowadays the review queues are burning like anything (especially the close votes)
A few days before, I'd be seeing 10 or 12 questions in the queue...
Now, only 1 or 2 (though I didn't review for a day)
@ManishEarth: ^^ you started reviewing again?

Yeah
Thought it was getting backed up, so I cleared it
mostly
@CrazyBuddy ping me if you need CW

@ManishEarth: Before that, I'll clarify whether I can ask such a question (I'll ask it anyway)
I'm frequently fluctuating between answering and not-answering questions..!
At January, I had a vacation when I stopped answering... Then, during another unexpected vacation, I started again...
Now (a few days ago), I had another vacation, so I stopped answering again...
Is Physics.SE getting frequently bored?
Or, how do others feel about such a "thing" <-- something like that...
@ManishEarth: Is that on-topic? o:)

@CrazyBuddy what is?
@CrazyBuddy I oscillate wrt asking
depends on how much time I have

1:33 PM
That's why I thought of having a discussion..!
Different opinions of users... maybe some convincing answer..?
@ManishEarth: I'll write my question out... If that's off-topic, ping me and I'll delete it :)

@CrazyBuddy ah
why CW?

@ManishEarth quite suspicious that my question would be BAD ;-)

Q: Is it true that Physics.SE gets bored often?

Crazy BuddyI have a thought that this question is off-topic. But... From the day I joined here, I was active (though I had low-quality answers, I was still actively answering) for almost 8 months. Then, I had a vacation (can't use internet that much) when I stopped answering. I (am) still visited (visiting...

@PhysicsMeta Drunk Meta... (Duping chat messages) Grrr... >:(

2 hours later…
4:41 PM
@ManishEarth Can you perhaps help me on something else?

Hm?

This site has a picture on it of some latin text on pinkish background. I cannot grab it, but I need it in full resolution.
@ManishEarth I think I've got it...

Now I have two! (Did you take a screen shot as well, or what?)

@Gugg Nah. I pulled it from the source code
That's the actual image, not a screenshot:P

4:52 PM
Great. Thanks!

What is it?

Copernicus writing about Earth going around the Sun, and striking through the part where he wrote that his idea is not original but due to Aristarchus. I think.

Ah
"I copied it naah, totally my idea"

5:08 PM
@ManishEarth Now I would like to read it. Is there an automated way to smartly enhance it/clear it up/put it in Arial, or is (free) technology not that far yet?

@Gugg There is, but his handwriting sucks

A: Is there any evidence that Copernicus knew of the Heliocentric hypothesis elaborated in Antiquity?

ChaosAndOrderThere seems to be evidence, yet I have only been able to find indirect references: From Wikipedia: As a university-trained Catholic priest dedicated to astronomy, Copernicus was acquainted with the Sun-centered cosmos of the ancient Greek Aristarchus. [...] Copernicus cited Aristarchus a...

Also consider grabbing the question for migration to Physics SE. There's not a lot of philosophy there.

History of Physics? Not exactly on topic

@ManishEarth There is a and a .
Perhaps one should add a warning to those tags that they are not on topic, if indeed they are not on topic.
@Dilaton Would you consider a new profile picture?

6:24 PM
@Gugg Not exactly I said. The question needs to be conceptual
I mean I can talk of a historical branch of physics (good 'ol aether) and ask for somethiing to be evaluated in that framework
Or I can ask for some historical line of reasoning
Your question is just...history :P
"your" question as in the pink latin ont

6:36 PM
@Gugg LOL, I'll consider it ... :-D. Since some days ago, I feel a little bit bigger and stronger indeed ;-)

@ManishEarth Would you have put this question (not mine) "on hold" here, immediately? I don't care, but I do consider its answer (not mine) somewhat interesting.

3 hours later…
9:22 PM
@Gugg Like Manishearth said, "did X know about Y" is not history of physics
@CrazyBuddy status report on that AstroBites ad?

@Gugg Not sure, probably
I would have waited a bit in that case, too

Q: No karma from upvotes - is this a bug?

Chay PatersonI recently answered a question with a bounty Floating a ping pong ball in the air just using a pen!, received 4 upvotes, and was awarded the bounty; I got +150 karma from the bounty as usual, but have not got any karma from the upvotes. Is this a bug, or a feature limiting karma from upvotes tha...
