I am so afraid to tell pento that if he adds new fields in REST API responses he needs a new version of the API
... well not afraid, just know that it will be a waste of time

if those changes break backwards compat then yes, a new version is needed
but if existing clients can interact with the endpoints just fine with the changes applied, then nope
I don't think they've realised though that this will be a problem in the future
of how to manage things so that when v3 of the core content endpoints arrives, they can have both side by side without massive duplication
but you should definately mention it

I think that sentence was aimed at the people here specifically
but I'm glad they're changing the ask question UI for new users
