I am so afraid to tell pento that if he adds new fields in REST API responses he needs a new version of the API

if those changes break backwards compat then yes, a new version is needed
but if existing clients can interact with the endpoints just fine with the changes applied, then nope
I don't think they've realised though that this will be a problem in the future
of how to manage things so that when v3 of the core content endpoints arrives, they can have both side by side without massive duplication
but you should definately mention it

Too many people experience Stack Overflow¹ as a hostile or elitist place, especially newer coders, women, people of color, and others in marginalized groups.

"Let’s do something about comments. Condescension and sarcasm have been reluctantly tolerated in comments for too long." This stuck to me in the article, I feel like I see it fairly often in our comments too. Maybe it's also time for a change :)
