@s_ha_dum: I implemented the posts_where, posts_join and posts_groupby in a way that I can now implement my custom query in a WordPress' way.

But I found one difference in both the query, and may be that's causing some problem fetching exact data:

This is my WHERE clause:

WHERE 1=1
	AND (( ({$wpdb->posts}.post_title LIKE '%$searchQ%') OR ({$wpdb->posts}.post_content LIKE '%$searchQ%') OR ({$wpdb->users}.display_name LIKE '%$searchQ%') OR ({$wpdb->usermeta}.meta_value LIKE '%$searchQ%') ))
	AND {$wpdb->posts}.post_type IN ( 'offers' )
	AND {$wpdb->posts}.post_status = 'publish'

But this is how the filter is making the query:

		AND {$wpdb->posts}.post_type IN ('offers')
		AND ({$wpdb->posts}.post_status = 'publish' OR {$wpdb->posts}.post_author = 1 AND {$wpdb->posts}.post_status = 'private')

	OR ({$wpdb->users}.display_name LIKE '%aarong%')
	OR ({$wpdb->usermeta}.meta_value LIKE '%aarong%')

what I did is:

			ON ( {$wpdb->postmeta}.meta_value = {$wpdb->users}.ID )

	return $join;

$where .= " OR ({$wpdb->users}.display_name LIKE '%". get_search_query(). "%') OR ({$wpdb->usermeta}.meta_value LIKE '%". get_search_query(). "%')";
return $where;

Happy to see that WooCommerce will be a first party plugin and therefore in scope for WPSE :)

Any recommendations for creating a complex multi-step form with all bells and whistles (uploads, conditional logic,...). My research points towards Gravity Forms, anything else I haven't seen?

true, but we accept WP-API questions for example, because it will be part of core

I don't really see the potential problem that it really is on topic, but even more people will think so and dump their questions here.

my point is, the question of first or third party has be answered from the perspective of the asker

not from the perspective of automattic

surely there will be more questions, but we do what we always do - now at least - check if they can be on-topic and otherwise close them

I read it somewhere, the reasoning/derivation was somewhat along the line, because Matt said it is 6 times bigger then formerly biggest purchase, it has to be about that amount
