In a system where you have content posted at various points in time and voting on that content, the FGITW effect is unavoidable. You can try to reduce it, but it will always be present.
@Mego The bigger issue here is that because of what you identified, answers with higher amounts of votes get more votes early on causing them to stand out more among newer answers.
If I go to a challenge or even a stackoverflow post
and the first answer has a lot more upvotes than the rest
i don't even really consider the other answers
@Mego This is a problem but I believe it's separate from fgitw
the old font (Roboto is pretty high up) so if you're on like android you'll prob get that
@quartata system font is different from the default browser font. it's probably times new roman for every browser, but system font for macOS would be SF/Helvetica and for windows it would be Segoe UI
@quartata I mean you have all the font weights, and then italics, and there's the fact that for the monospace font we used extended charsets because they are languages that use uncommon characters
