They seem to have not done this in ZZZ, but I feel like miHoYo is just really afraid of trying to sell characters without human faces

Like, for context, you can usually eyeball pretty quickly if any given character has a "playable quality" model. Stock NPC models have smooth textures and interchangeable parts, non-stock NPC models have distinctive designs but slightly "chunky" textures and overall just a bit of lacking polish, and playable-quality models are anything but.

- Scara base personality is somehow arrogant "tsun" type. Basically a Vegeta style character. He is male, so he gets all the hate.

- Nahida is a very popular character. Some like her for her story and how she was the first archon to actually do something for her country

Some instead thinks she is their waifu.

They hate Scara more because she takes him under her protection (notice that this is clearly a "he deserves a try at life" but these idiots see this as "stealing their waifu")

I don't see need for fanservice, but if you look at the game it is clear that some designs were altered or dropped.
