@Gao you use npx. Now tell me you also don't install anything globally and you may have my blessing

@SPArcheon i don't think so. i use fnm and haven't manually installed any npm package so far
@Gao and... maybe you even use the node version manager tool?

@SPArcheon i only use fnm. do you mean that the experimental one included in node (corepack)?
Gao
Gao
@SPArcheon no. screw go
@Gao Also known as "I am cursed to work with SPFX and they constantly change the supported node versions, I don't want to reinstall everything every time I have to switch project"

@SPArcheon i believe that's what fnm does. i used to use volta but it has its own config, while fnm is listed on the official node site and can use .node-version that is compatible with most of the other node version managers
@Gao basically same thing I believe. Do you happen to know HOW it works under the hood?
copy&replace files?
Because the one I linked uses windows shadow linking.
(which should be the less invasive method to do this)

@SPArcheon nope, sorry. i believe fnm uses shims while nvm-windows does not?

actually conda might even work for nodejs too, though i haven't used it in anything other than managing python
