@hyper-neutrino skills are kinda weird.
the skill powers up her normal attack, which is not the most ideal attack to use for archers because of distance. Also, since it powers up her attack, you want to keep her active.
Burst is the opposite, requires switching to work.

given that her E cooldown is too long she has to be a timed dps so you can use burst to swap to another dps

anyway, users seems to be far more concerned with mechanical side of the skill instead of looking at how things work.
For example, people looking at Klee Jumpy pure damage and forgetting that the thing does contact damage before exploding....
in a game without mercy invulnerability.
meaning that if the monster is against a wall....
(most not even realize that Anemo traveler tornado picks up her bombs.... Because since Venti burst doesn't they don't check anything else....)
(good for Kazuha I guess)
Basic compression of some bosses is quite lacking too.

The only problem the anemo traveler has is that the tornado can't be used on larger foes.

with venti's at least even if it doesn't displace the enemy it still deals damage to them continuously

It they changed the tornado so that press sends it forward but hold keeps it into place.....

Basically a way to use it against bigger stuff.
otherwise you are limited to the skill, which is capped by the availability of swirl reactions.

But in that case Kazuha is probably more efficient.
That said, I think they DO plan to give the traveler a specific element (Holy) in the end, and he will probably be the only one to use that for a while. So he is destined to become useful soon or later.
I would not exclude that he will get a way to switch element without the statues too.

i do think traveler will eventually get some exclusive thing or the ability to use multiple elements in combat or something like that
that's why i built traveler to level 90 and am trying to keep her talents all up reasonably (although i have to wait on EMC because i am building too much right now to keep her up)

@hyper-neutrino Could be relevant. There are a few things in the game that point to characters being stuck in a status quo.
Like Jean still waiting for the actual Archmaster. The guy is probably already dead considering he was meant to be going against the Abyss and the Abyss never mentioned him.
