@Dimitrimx Ah I see. Makes sense. It did appear a bit "retro" in its simplistic style when I first started watching, so much so that I was taken aback. It took me some time to warm up to it. Then, it turned out to be another one of those "don't judge a book by its cover" epics.

But Hanyu and Rika are not kawaii at all in this new installment... bit of a letdown...

@EddieKal Haven't watched the new one myself yet. Also took me a while to get used to the art style of the first one, and even the confusing 4 episode plot resets for that matter.

While I do wish to see it in it's new quality, I fear I might not enjoy it as much as the original one ^^

sorta funny because the When They Cry series Visual Novels go through the same sort of thing. i think Higurashi's gone though 3 styles and Umineko's gone through 2

you also get the feeling that if they had unlimited money the games would be full 3D worlds and the anime would be done by ufotable

To be fair, as a creator I would probably also like to reach that perfection I envisioned.

Especially if the budget version was well received like this one

@Hakase i have and i know, it's just a personal preference. with a 3d environment you can play with angles and with voices you can play with having characters interact with you in the middle of active combat
