But I trust your interpretation and understanding of the series. However, the validity of your interpretation doesn't necessarily invalidate other possible readings.

Every text has more than one possible readings and they are not mutually exclusive.

Napier is coming from the feminist angle and from the little I have read and shared it seems she provides a coherent and well organized argument

Again, I haven't seen the series, so I don't know if she gets all the facts right. But to me they don't matter that much. Because authorial intent is a trap.

Different people are focused on different things, sure. All fine and dandy.

Such a feminist reading as Napier's is still very interesting and right on the nose even if she doesn't mention the second meanings and puns that some other fans see in the same work

And "Urusei yatsura" is indeed a very clever pun!
