@Mysticial While I don't think we should get rid of reputation, I don't really like the name, and I do think people put too much emphasis on it and claim it's much better than it really is.

It isn't really much different than the old forum level system where you could level up and get more privileges by posting more. It correlates much better to participation than it does to knowledge or actual real-world reputation.

Am I the only person bothered by the fact that this answer is written in the context of modern Japanese, but the story takes place in the Sengoku period, when っ didn't even exist in Japanese?

I haven't read Inuyasha (at least not in a long time), so I don't know how much it sticks to classical Japanese. But if it does, that doesn't seem like the right answer.
