A: Installing nodejs in linux fails

GeorgeTo install version 8: curl -sL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_8.x | sudo -E bash - sudo apt-get install -y nodejs Source: https://nodejs.org/en/download/package-manager/#debian-and-ubuntu-based-linux-distributions

even with version 8 the same error comes

ok run sudo apt update then sudo apt install -f @geoffreymwangi

after running am now getting 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 255 not upgraded. so node js still doesnt install
should the last part be sudo apt install -f or sudo apt-get install -f nodejs

For Ubuntu 14.04 sudo apt-get install -f

so that doesnt install node as well is it possible to manually install it like how installation happens in windows platform without the apt-get

It's not meant to install node just to install any requirements, now run that code I gave earlier!

now after running sudo apt-get install -y nodejs am still getting the previous error

which of the previous errors are we talking about?

rr:1 https://deb.nodesource.com/node_7.x xenial/main amd64
nodejs amd64 7.10.1-2nodesource1~xenial1

E: Failed to fetch https://deb.nodesource.com/node_7.x/pool/main/n/

After tonnes of tries ive found out another way to install nodejs using nvm
With this you can also switch different versions it has installed with nvm without an issue
