@Zanna I am wondering if what I was saying about the empty disjunction was particularly confusing. The reason I am wondering this is that it's confusing to me, looking back at it now. I think maybe I misunderstood what you were saying around there, and suggested that you weren't on the right track... when you actually were on the right track. I'm not sure, but it looks that way to me now.
Also, the whole thing about the empty conjunction and empty disjunction was intended to bolster what I was saying about the relationships between conjunction and multiplication and between disjunction and addition. I had assumed you were already familiar with empty products and empty sums, as such.
The notions of the empty conjunction and empty disjunction are not really very important anyway... but I expect they will make more sense later when we consider the ideas in set theory of an empty intersection and empty union, which relates to boolean algebra and to Venn diagrams (assuming you wish to continue with set theory). It is in view of this--as well as other related topics--that I've brought up the idea of the identity element of a binary operation.
