@Zanna Yeah, Hikaru is a nice content creator. Although I watch Agadmator for recaps.
@Zanna Fabiano was known to be the GOD of prep as he always brought up really weird but interesting piece of prep on the board which had rarely been played before. His prep was so strong that he was able to win from partially lost positions (because human is human, the positions were losing from engine's stand point, but it's difficult to convert them as a human.) BUT Later we discovered that his prep was the top line of Leela Engine. LOL
@Zanna How did you came across the video then? Just curious.

1 hour later…
6:49 AM
@Someone watching Agadmator... my husband pointed out a comment saying Hikaru had said he screwed up. Agadmator was speculating about why that move was played haha

3 hours later…
10:18 AM
@Zanna I didn't knew you have so much interest in chess

@Someone it's only in the last couple of months I became more interested :)

@Zanna Did you start playing online? What's your rating?

10:36 AM
nah I didn't start playing, too busy with baby work :(
anyway I'm a beginner, my dad taught me the rules when I was a child but rarely played

3 hours later…
1:23 PM
@Zanna Oh, I see...

maybe next month :)

Do you know about theory, openings, and games etc.?
@Zanna lichess.org is a good website to start :)

@Someone no...
@Someone :) free as in freedom

@Zanna oh! Ok. You should learn all of that before playing for an official or website-based rating.
@Zanna it's a bit ugly as compared to chess.com, but it's free, solid, open-source and good for all kind of players.

I'm not a very competitive person

1:30 PM
Okay.

thanks for the tips! :)

My pleasure :)
I am an International Master (IM) btw.

cool
when I was living in London, one of my students was a chess player
she was 9 years old then
I wonder if she continued with it :)
I should try to get in touch with her

@Zanna cool!

that was about 8 years ago

1:39 PM
Chess is just like an hobby not really a profession unless you are Vishwanath Anand.
He was a great player, you have heard about him, right?

I don't know anything about him except that he plays chess...

Hs was a 5 time world champion!
He's a GOD.

:)
a Tamil?

He is one of the greatest chess players. He's India#1 and world top 10 even at the age of 52!
@Zanna yeah
He lives in Chennai

:D
@Someone I guess he keeps practising

1:47 PM
Well, psychologically chess skills becomes much weaker when you "practise chess". And nobody at age of 45+ has achieved his rating.
He's a true legend.

chess skills become weaker when you practise?

depends on how you practice.
If you oractise
By playing games
You become much weaker.

why so?

Just a fact. Don't know why.
Also, once Vishy sir was in a train,
Someone asked what you do for living
He said he plays chess
The person repdlied, "that's OK, but what do you do for living"?
He replied he plays chess for living
And the person said "You cannot play chess for living unless you are vishwanath Anand". Literally ro the man himself.
This happened in India.

hahahaha

1:57 PM
Btw, South India consist of India's 90% intelligent people and chess grand masters.

hahaha!
I've not been to other parts of India but I like it here

@Zanna I believe the reason for the same is because most south Indians follow it's old and rich culture.
In North India, people eat, wear and drink like other countries generally.

oh!
yes here many people express pride in their culture
wear saree etc

Yeah, exactly. Also eating on banana leaf, wearing dhoti kirta etc..

sometimes our local place gives us banana leaves even with takeaway food :)
the leaf gives good feeling to the food :)

2:07 PM
I love these traditions.
But unfortunately, they do not take place here.

that is sad!
@Someone me too
you can move to south india

Hahaha, I don't think so that is going to happen any time soon.
BTW, a funny story, about 6 months ago, somebody asked Hikaru about his retirement in the twitch chat, and Hikaru responded "No, I am going to win the Grand Prix and best Alireza Firouja in the candidates," and surprisingly Himaru won Grand Prix and defeated firouja yesterday in the candidates.

oh haha, nice
retirement?

2:23 PM
That was a joke. Somebody just said "You should retire now"

oh I see haha
@Error404 your new name is funny :)

Yeah.

3 hours later…
5:39 PM
@Someone well, I'm not sure about the 90% statistic...
@Someone Well, that's a broad generalisation.
@BeastOfCaerbannog haha.... yeah. "relative" reminds me of physics...
