Don't freeze!

I would unfreeze the room if it froze, but the problem is that as a mod it's not obvious that a room is frozen - one can still post in it just as usual, and posting doesn't unfreeze it!

@Zanna You mean the mods can chat in frozen rooms?

yeah and other than the message that the room has been frozen, there's no obvious indication that it has been frozen

Zanna has frozen this room.

brrr

@Zanna That's weird...

sorry

@Zanna It's not your mistake. Please don't apologise.
I am trying to say that it's weird that mods can post in frozen roooms

@RandomPerson It makes the meaning of "frozen" vague..

Q: Why are chat moderators able to chat in frozen rooms?

Random PersonLet's say that a chatroom is frozen. AFAIK, nobody should be able to chat in the chatroom as the room is frozen. But I recently got to know that the chat moderators can post messages in frozen chatrooms. Example: https://chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/58769663#58769663 So, my question ...

While the room is frozen, only moderators can talk. A room freeze prevents room owners from participating, and prevents the room from appearing in the default list of rooms for the site. Moderators can use this time to leave guidance for the room with reason why it was frozen, to give everyone a chance to calm down, or to permanently close a room while still allowing public access to the transcripts.
