Welcome! This is a place for those who intend to vote in the 2017 MSE moderator election, and nominees, and self-nominees, to discuss important issues of concern, regarding the election, issues of concern for candidates, and a place for candidates, to interact in a less formal venue than what we see in meta.

Why are there two chatrooms for the election?
OTOH, it's nice to see that there is a chatroom for discussing about the candidates and the election :D

@Xam Is there another MSE chatroom that's been created regarding the upcoming mod election (2017)? You too, @quid?

@amWhy yes it seems you created two! :-)
Given your question I assume my assumption there is correct. I froze the other room to avoid confusion.

@quid OH My Goodness! Thanks for the freezing of it!

No problem. Thanks for your initiative @amWhy I now also left a link to this room in the other one.

@quid Thanks! I'm thinking of linking the chat to the meta post: math.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/27045/…, firstly just to keep the thread for which I'm 80% of below Jyrki's answer from growing there.

I think that would be fine @amWhy If ever they see an issue Grace Note could just delete it. We certainly had a room last time around. I am not sure if there would be an official one at a later point, which might be about the only reason I could conseive for not having one.

@amWhy Pin please
@amWhy Due to recent events, I made this questionnaire, which you may be interested in.
What would you do if someone opposes a decision you've made?

11:36 PM
@SimplyBeautifulArt Hmmm. Has such a situation ever come up? :P

@amWhy I suppose I hope so. Isn't that how democracy works? :P

@SimplyBeautifulArt It's a good question, and feels very relevant and appropriate at this point in time. I'd love to ask a mod candidate: Is it difficult for you to admit it when you make a mistake? Are you capable of undoing what you've already done, or reconsidering, or soul searching, about an action you've taken. Are you capable of admitting you might be wrong.... rough draft, and too verbose.
@SimplyBeautifulArt My :P was partly in reference to a rather recent escalation which immediately came to mind when I first read the question. :P
